Assad wasn't a good regime and Iran knew that but he was a better choice than the terrorists that have taken over Syria and the minorities are in danger. And that's why they were against Assad who is from the Alawite minority that doesn't go well with the majority Sunni Syria and the terrorists. After all Assad had started normalizing relations with Arabs to counter Iran influence and in the last three years of his regime Iran influence had been decreased and even most of their army had gotten out of Syria and also Assad didn't clearly communicate his position in the war and didn't ask for assistance from Iran. He himself was tied of being a leader of a country under sanctions where he can only afford to pay 50 dollars to the soldiers per month while the terrorists were being paid 2000 dollars which it was obvious that they weren't capable of fighting. I don't deny that Iran resistance forces have been heavily impacted but it hasn't been weaken at all they still have the houthis and the capability of hypersonic missiles that can attack israel directly without being intercepted.

As an iranian who knows about military, I know that fattah 2 wasn't used in the attack. Also the majority of the missiles where old models. That's why some of them (like 10 to 20 percent of the missiles) got intercepted. There where only a few Fattah 1 missiles used in the attack and it was used to take down the arrow long range anti ballistic defense system. Fattah 1 has the capability to track down and hit the radars that looking for it.
