Okay, so I've watched the trailer countless times and I may be wrong but the last time I watched it, it felt like a light went off in my head. My thought is that the family "fighting" themselves is a metaphor for how we fight ourselves internally within our own thoughts as to how we should be/act to fit in. We go through this in every stage of our lives and ultimately, we have to make a choice on who we want to be, so in the end, we have to kill off one side or the other to become who we are. 💡

Supposedly The story is about the mother when she was younger , she is the little girl you see with the pigtails, she practiced black magic and summon something ,problem was it began to attach itself to her. She then moved away, married and years later she came to her hometown and what she summoned attached itself or several selves to her family in order to take their place. Hence why in the movie, the family is referred to as "the tethered" that's why the mom knew who they where.

HYPEDDDD!! This looks so strange...but there are several reasons why I am already sold on seeing this even though the trailer didn’t give us much. FIRT OFF THE AMAZING CAST!! We got Lupita who is amazing in pretty much everything!, ELIZABETH MOSS AKA “OFFRED” FROM HANDMAID’S TALE! SHE IS SUCH A GREAT ACTRESS! The choice of making it a family vacation to one of the happiest places on earth in the summer...THE BEACH! And then add in all the insane shots during all of the horror moments like the little girl choking herself, that creep climbing the tree, Lupita’s strange voice and face sitting in that chair smiling with the scissors, AND THAT SHOT OF THE STORM ON THE BEACH!! I think this is the best trailer of the year and there was many!! , So in my opinion this is about fighting the worst part of Us either it wins or we do , it's super profound .The Music editing is BRILLIANT now it's stuck in my head and it will creep me out permanently I'm sure there going to be a lot of twists , if you notice bunny ears and scissor hands look alike , the older daughter was wearing a bunny tshirt to the beach , the boy a Jaws t-shirt , the little girl whom we don't know where she came from probably the younger lupita She was wearing a thriller t-shirt , the dad lied easily in the beginning when he could have said yes it's about drugs but focus on the music and never do drugs but instead he said it isn't about drugs but it's a DOPE song lmao like we get it dude you huffed and puffed 👌🌿 😂so yeh this trailer has many foreshadowings the one tear running down lupita's cheek , similar shot to the one with Daniel in Get out in the chair I believe it represents a deep fear coming to life . So I do believe it will get more and more deeper by each movie and we might find them all in one universe somehow at some point which it already is as the universe to Jp is the complexity of the human mind and the fears that comes with that ,there is also the shattered mirror , the bunny resemblance is it about not reproducing when you are mental 😂😂 I really can't wait Jordan Peele is a plot genuis he understands what makes a real thriller/horror movie which is the story and plot twists not just killing for the sake of it , love Lupita she is on another level of talent that actor , Winston Duke as well pure talent was great as M'Baku in Black Panther . Jordan made a point of saturating this trailer with it... distorting it, burning it into our psyches... this is NOT the first time the melody has been used, and nobody seems to remember... I didn’t even know who the Luniz were, much less their song, that almost every reactor immediately starts bobbing their heads to in the opening shot, but I *did* remember (and almost barely) ‘why you treat me so bad’ by Club Nouveau, but it’s been so long I had to google it! the interesting thing is that without Club Nouveau, Luniz wouldn’t have had that melody to sample... sampling... clones...
