That's not NATO spending, it's simply individual countries sending what they can, that happen to be a part of NATO. Countries who are not part of NATO are also sending funds and weapons. Donating to Ukraine, who are not part of NATO can't be considered as spending on NATO defense.

Just think about it, if every European country is getting 500,000 soldiers ready and we have about 30 countries here, and they would all do that, then it would be an army of 15 million soldiers. 500,000 soldiers per country is doable, though the bigger countries like the UK, Germany, Poland and France can definitely draft more soldiers than smaller ones like Luxemburg or the Baltic States. The EU has, without Russia or Ukraine a population of about 450 million people, even like 100 million more than the United States, so getting to 15 million armed forces would be only 3.3% of the total population. Now we need some more hardware, the spending has to go up to produce loads of military 'stuff'. And lots of drones too.

Seems very unlikely that russia would call and say something like, " oh by the way, we are invading the baltics. Just called to let you know." . Given if the russkies did invade logic would dictate you would not want to advertise it in advance given the russkies are not in a position of strength. Seems rather insane given they cannot win in Ukraine and would be attacking a much larger adversary.

In the 1990’s Russian Nuclear Facilities were noted to be in such a Poor State of Repair requiring Urgent Maintenance. Putin clearly ignored this preferring to concentrate on making money for Himself and his Oligarchs. Have you noticed that Russian Cruise and Iskander Missile launches into Ukraine have become fewer and fewer (their acracy was also very poor). The Iskander short range and Yars Intercontinental Nuclear Missiles needs regular and careful maintenance, these specialists have clearly left Russia. Putin no longer has a Nuclear arsenal available to threaten anyone.

13:37 That is massive. Just some numbers here: Germany had a total federal budget of 476 Billion € in 2023 and 5% of its GDP for that year would have been 211 Billion €, equalling 44.3% of its entire annual federal budget. I guess I don't need to tell you that it's not really feasible to spend that much on a single sector, regardless of which one it is. Source numbers from Google: GDP 2023: $4,456 Trillion US Annual federal budget 2023: 476 Billion € But maybe I'm just too stupid to do the "MAFFS" (5% of 4456 got me around 222, in USD that would be 211 by today's exchange rate), as I could find a source from the Bundestag which claimed that 72 Billion € were set to be paid for defence in 2024. That wouldn't even be 1%... 43:18 Speaking of Poland, I'm now craving some so called "bird's milk" (Ptasie Mleczko)... that stuff is awesome! 45:54 Oh, It's [GR](Super)Cap, he again needed some fresh air after a hot dogefight or two with his cup of tea being emptied already! Just a normal day on the Grim Reapers' squad base! Nothing to see here, just move along! :D 48:19 Ramstein AB is near Kaiserslautern which is SW of Frankfurt. Spangdahlem is SW of Koblenz and N of Trier, which is probably what you had in mind. 59:21 I got an AMD Ryazan 5800x right here, it's good! 1:20:11 The Panamol Canal! XD 1:29:06 I had to look those up and I certainly have eathen something like that at some point in my life, but I guess it wasn't original Hershey's as that's not that easy to get here simply as you can only get it via imports, they're not regularly sold herre like other stuff. BTW they use PGPR instead of cocoa butter to save money, which honestly speaking just sucks. Trying to find similarly styled chocolates, I only found a hint that similar ones were availabe at Russian stores (probably smaller ones or Mix Markt which existed a while ago here) and the ones I had might actually have been some from there. Russian Ripoffs, blyat! XD But honestly, this looks more like a bunch of Center Shocks to me! :D 1:31:15 So basically: 🍑🍑🍑© 1:34:01 The Cajee Report! ThReE bObCaTs KiDs DeErS! 1:43:11 I noticed that as well and immediately thought of the most mandatory app on any Medduhquest headset: Virtual Desktop, made by Guy Godin, an abolute unit of a gigachad! 1:44:20 🍑 🍑 🍑 1:44:36 🍑 The Peach! 🍑 1:44:46 🍑 P E A C H ! 🍑 1:48:26 🇺🇦 ГЕРОЯМ СЛАВА! 🇺🇦 1:48:30 🍑 The End Of The Peach! 🍑 2:08:33 Srsly, someone needs to make an Enforcer Ayyy compilation... XD 2:16:14 Dang, I now start to remember that, been there a few years ago and thought it was weird as well. But to be fair, West Germany had postal codes like [4-digit number] [city name] [district number], like 5300 Bonn 1 or 8000 München 8... they changed it to a 5 digit code in 1993 without the numbers after the name. That was just for postal service, though. 2:18:05 The Bayous! But well, Nawlins has probably one of the best helicopter CFIs out there, good ol' Lester! (check out Mover's Helicopter Flight Training VLOG, you'll just love that guy after watching a few) 2:20:19 I would... maybe you should do it on occasions like the voices thing XD 2:21:40 OK, fair enough then, I guess! 2:24:07 Nice! 2:37:13 ^this 2:42:17 Grand Pear entered the chat. 2:43:10 Would love to see that... for ships and giggles! XD 3:19:57 An actual, serious war-ning? 3:21:42 Exactly. And also, it's the European UNION. Same story there. 3:39:48 Same. But one thing to have learnt from the bog roll apocalypse: Have a decent amount of toilet paper in your basement. People will be scavenging for that first and you won't be able to get any of that anymore even in much smaller, non-nuclear crises. 3:42:09 Exactly. So, ideally we're the first targets... XD 3:45:58 Uncle Sam simply doesn't want to have the Xinese in his backyard. And he shouldn't. An I consider all the Americas as his backyard...

Regarding air pollution in the 60s and early 70s: it's absolutely true that the air was shit in big cities in those years. I know, because I was there, in south San Joaquin Valley and in trips over the Grapevine into the LA basin, it was B.A.D. BAD. However, the air quality in China's large cities, even today, is quite a bit worse. A good air-quality day in Shanghai or Hong Kong today is like L.A. was on bad days in the 70s. But yeah, watch old movies like Bullitt or the Dirty Harry movies, and you'll see scenes of pretty crappy air. Regarding 14 mile average visibility these days: that's pretty darned good. There are particulates in the air from natural emissions, so when the air is still, they build up as haze. (For example: the Smoky Mountains look like that because of the trees, and they're not on fire.) So don't just hear "14 miles" and think "it should be better." Maybe so, but more information needed.

Russia is pulling old T62's and even T55's out of museums to fight Ukraine, the poorest nation of Europe. How does he POSSIBLY think he can oppose the most powerful military alliance to ever exist? The problem with the current US president is that no one knows when he's talking business and when he's talking out of his ass, not even president himself knows that. If EU was more consolidated and solid in it's direction, that wouldn't be a problem, however unpredictability of the most powerful ally in NATO causes more of discord in already shaky Europe, though russia does serve as a balancing factor. Hopefully they will take Trump's 5% seriously, because not everyone went even for the 2% from the last time, there were a lot of hysterics on the subject.

1:22:08 I like that idea because Americans have for the most part about our blue collar industries that will be really great. When I was a kid chicago public schools would take us on field trips to steel mills and manufacturing plants etc., to show us all the different kind of jobs and industry out there where we could work. It seems like for ever ago. Just the early 90's lol. Maybe you guys can start a trend.

On GDP: A large amount of US 'military spending' is also spent in European nations but called 'civilian'. Veterans in the US receive medical benefits which in Europe are generic for all residents. ROTC: similar. US corps of engineers: civilian in Europe. And US defense spending seems like industrial support while many European arms are imported from the US. So, economic investments are not comparable. European Nato members, on the whole, do pay more than the 2% quotum. And that where US 'spending' is a bit inflated compared to European spending. On Ukraine: Ukraine spends on arms itself, out of its own economy, which is strongly supported by European nations. For instance: electricity flows into Ukraine per its need: wow. Goods, investments, millions of refugees ... Europe is rather strongly engaged. US mil spending also is per US accounting: older kit goed to Ukraine booked as New Replacement costs. A lot of European support is just bought from international markets (like from Jordan, Egypt, the US, even India) per cost, direct. New kit is also delivered per new price. There just isn't such a material reserve in Europe - but payments do not compare with US payments where US money stays in the US, in Europe too, but (a lot) less than in the US.

number of individuals in military is an irrelevant metric. what matters is: the kia ratio in a war between nato and russia and russian daily casualties. in case of a full scale military confrontation between russia and nato, russia will quickly go nuclear. this is why nato countries must move NOW in protecting their population and ammassing nuclear assets
