A few years ago when I lived in Florida, the big spot for homeless camps was in the woods near Walmarts in the Tampa Bay area, and they would loiter near the store Panhandling the customers, and then go back nearby the woods.

Ya as soon as Desantis signed this law Tampa started arresting and charging homeless on a law that was not in effect yet essentially braking the law themselves but they don't care couse the cops can do as they please to homeless couse homeless do not have the money to hire an attorney to sue them

What I heard; 😮(and I may have mentioned this in one of your other videos), is that the Storm/ Evacuation shelters will not let ANYONE in if they think that person is homeless. One desperate lady said that every single shelter/ center told her & her friend; (in a Wheelchair), that the shelter was FULL! To me, it looks like a big storm surge washed through that homeless encampment, washing everyone & everything out to the deeper parts of the Swamp.😔 the 😅⁰Do you think ( some) of those homeless STAYED right there, not knowing about the massive storm surge? Its scary to think that Florida may have started a rule to prevent ANY & ALL of the homeless from obtaining shelter during the Hurricane?😳

I was at a crazy homeless camp in Pasco county New Port Richey east near hwy 19. Intersection Little road and Massachusetts next too southern baptist church. In a large wooded lot.

There are lots of women out there. I worked at a 7eleven nearby for 2yrs. I know a lot of them and some I would trust my life(maybe not my wallet) with. Others were generally friendly and tried to not act like wild animals. The few I ever had trouble with were mentally decopensated likely schizophrenia. I believe mental illness is the source of addiction and homelessness. So many are on the run from family or dangerous partners. They meet up with other hopeless people and drugs and alcohol provide a brief relief. Idk, maybe mental health should be more important. People can't do better withour help.

The rich people who lost their homes in the hurricane and are living in their campers are not dumping all their garbage and needles on the ground. And they are pretty self sufficient. They have their own campers to stay in...No comparison whatsoever.

Unfortunately we're seeing the exact same thing in the UK with two tier policing. hospital treatment ect etc. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer it's a absolute disgraceful clusterfuck excuse my language but it gets my back up big time. Often when the cops kick them out they make them go or arrest if they have a warrant. If they get arrested, the cops don't clean up the site. 2 months later when they get out of jail they get over to their old site to see what's left and make a new camp nearby

Have you worked with the homeless? I did, years ago as an RN in the D.C. area. They can be a tough group to work with....Social Services did their best to find housing, MH services and many times it was just refused. Many wanted no responsibilities and no rules, but nearly always guarantees a life on the streets.
