USA MADE PRY BARS!! Are the Tekton Pry Bars worth it?

Tekton is a PHENOMENAL company. I'm never a fan of non USA tools, but tekton's warranty has been easier to deal with and faster turn around than my local tool truck guys, or anyone else for that matter. Just take a picture of your damaged tool and of the tekton logo / item number and email it to them with your address, and before you know it a new one's at your doorstep. The fact that they are no starting to transition ~TO~ USA manufacturing instead of away from it like every other brand on the planet; says heaps about them as a company. That fact alone has made me a repeat customer, just to help fund the vision of bringing back USA production. I feel as though tekton, more than anyone else, has most potential to become the "craftsman" brand that every homeowner and mechanic knew back in the 70's-90's. I do hope they expand a bit though, as their current selection is pretty sparse.

In my eyes they are definitely a stand out brand in a sea of mediocre. Innovation is an awesome thing to see from any company and I think they show a lot of it by stepping out of the box that is the norm of tool manufacturing. I haven't had to deal with their warranty yet but thats good to know. Its sad to see Craftsmen fall from what it was to what it is now but I agree tekton has the potential to become a household staple if they play their cards right.

I have a question about Tekton Tools How decent are their tools ? I heard mixed reviews about them At first I heard that it was a good mid range brand with good quality and no skip size set but now I'm hearing that their wrenches aren't that good and the quality of their chrome and impact sockets are cheap are there certain things that they make better that are worth buying and other stuff going elsewhere ?

There's a video of the 3/8 ratchets vs snap on, icon, pittsburgh,and Capri and another one of the 1/4 inch of snap on, icon, Pittsburgh and another brand I can't remember. In both videos, the snap on came in second, snapping before the tekton did. Dude used a lab tested torque meter for testing.

So I don't personally own a ton of Tekton stuff myself. I have a few wrenches and some sockets now. For the price you pay they seem to be pretty good quality tools. I think when Craftsman was in their hay-day and made in the usa That it was better then Tekton is currently. That being said I would choose Tekton over present day Craftsman without a second thought. I think most of their products are just as good as the Capri, Gearwrench, Astro, Sunex tools are. These days there are a ton of options for good quality tools at a lower price point and tekton seems to be right up there in that category.

@@turbro7185I haven’t had any of my tekton impact sockets break yet. 3 years of pretty heavy use. I did break a torx bit and a torque wrench and had a detent ball come out of an extension. Their warranty is fast and super easy. Just email them a pic of the broken tool. Replacements show up in 3-5 days.

They’re made by Wilde I have the Wilde ones they hold up decent. Only complaints Iv heard is handles breaking but that’s few and far between as far as I know.

Thats awesome to hear, I know the guy that owns these is not going to be nice to them so I think time will tell!

Oh I totally agree, I actually think a lot of the stuff made in the USA these days is made to a lesser quality than it used to be. It’s pretty sad.

@@TalkinTools have you heard anything about the new long capri ratchets? I ordered the 1/2” one it’ll be here Thursday

@@valleygrown_dieseltech3444 so I did a video right before this one about the regular length 90 tooth capri ratchets. My coworker bought these pry bars and the 3 piece regular length capri ratchet set. I haven’t used them much in real life yet but just running over them quick the comfort grip handle if you got that one seems pretty similar to size as the snapon’s. They teeth sound like they have some pretty aggressive engagement and they seem to be a pretty nice product. I’d say very on par with the olsa USA made ratchets and the gear wrench 90 tooth

@@TalkinTools yeah I got the new 90t comfort handle xtra long handle it’s like 25” for 60$ I just wasn’t sure if anyone has tried them out yet. I got it because my longest 1/2 is the icon 17” flex head so hopefully it’s good and hold torque well
