I'm thinking of sandwiching the round woven placemats around the splatter screen. You would have to piece holes but them it would add a pop to the back ground. Very nice idea Tracy!

The placemats are a great idea if you don't want the screen to show - like I did. 🥰 My friend over at Keeping it Simple Crafts uses placemats on her creations and they are beautiful.

Excelsior is what that straw looking stuff is called. I like the more "fine" excelsior and I get it at Joann's craft store or Amazon (here is my referral link - amzn.to/3fQEbz0. You can find the courser or thicker excelsior at Dollar Tree as well. The felt circles can be used for many different projects.
