I've known number 7, Jacob, since high-school club volleyball. Funny thing is, his high school didn't have a team, so he only played club, and for most of his club career, he played opposite instead of outside

I watched him play for Ohio State last school year and I could tell right away that he was talented. I’m sad he’s not on OSU now but I’m also content knowing that in being on a team with some of the best players in the world, that he can use his talent to the best of his abilities. He’s a great player.

im not an expert by any means but why is the us opposite tipping so much when he has the height to put away difficult sets
@darknemesis92252 жыл бұрын
sometimes its safer/ throws off the defense if the tip is perfectly placed, that's my guess

This is a common problem for him. His form is kinda clunky too which makes for inconsistent spiking but when he hits, it looks like a missile lol

This is when too much height becomes detrimental in volleyball. He doesn't have the best foot work or arm swing mechanics to time hitting harder/ out of system sets

USA's DEFENSE sucks. They have good offense, but the balance isn't there for defense. If you take a look at the Japanese younger roster...They are so balanced in offense and defense. I guess USA only focuses on offense. They need to work on their player's court awareness and ball control. Also, the tempo of the USA's team is a bit slower than the Japanese's tempo. I'm comparing USA and JAPAN because you can see a world of difference in terms of ball control, defense, tempo, and even running plays.
