I'm from Europe(Switzerland) and always loved to hate on LeBron as much as the next guy, but this was an incredible performance. I've always been a fan of Team USA and started watching the NBA and playing basketball after seeing the Dream Team in '92 (also my country is ranked at 63 and never qualifies anyways). Anybody who watches basketball over here only watches the NBA, so I'am as surprised as most people at the quality of these other national teams. The way international competition has caught up, this is going to be an exciting tournament.

I don't want to be biased, but Germany is so good due to current Serbian coach, Svetislav Pešić and also, to be honest, German intelligence and discipline. He founded the German system in the 90' and gave a blueprint how basketball should be organized throughout the whole country. Germans followed the blueprint as Germans would do and this is the result. If my country, Serbia, would do the same, with the amount of raw talent for basketball we have, we would be unstoppable... 😢

I think despite me liking that World championship team a lot, with many young, fun players on it, having crazy offensive players on the team like Curry, a multitalent like LeBron or amazing defensive talent like AD, Bam and Jrue really helps. Not to mention a guy like Ant, that was on the wold championship team as well, that brings another level of two-way play and intensity. Just having him and LeBron firing up the team is a huge benefit, as a lot of these stars generally tend to fall into more NBA based habits and underperform a little bit otherwise.
