Love having the USAF in Mildenhall. The personnel integrate wonderfully with the local population and many families live off base in nearby towns and villages. Such a shame the annual airshow had to end due to the threat of terrorism. May we always have a special relationship. ❤

The first engined retrofit,,on the basic B707, I saw in the late 1990s. At WILKS BARRE PA, it was a KC135,,FOR ARNG PA, , they are CFM, ENGINES,,THAT CAPT WAS A NICE WOMAN, there was guide an airshow that day,,,,,, Cheers from NJ

xc5647321 xc5647321 The propellerS seems to be permanently attached (with out clutch) to turbine engine and can not do negative pitch, due to their curved shape... so... but even if this thing had all that.... the risk of auto rotation on using TWO separate rotor on polar opposite axis???

@ 6:50 is that 'Air Force two'? Or whatever the 757 is that goes with Air Force One? As local its pretty sad to see the USAF finally leave Mildenhall after all these years. I hope it will stay as 'RAF' and they find a use for what is a very well equipped base. Now looking forward to the F-35s arriving at Lakenheath just down the road ...
