@ IAF on average had about 7 crashes per year since 2011, when there are starting to have reliable data, but that is not just fighter aircraft, including helicopters too. The backbone of IAF, Su-30MKI, had only 13 crashes since induction in 2002. That is about one per 2 years, not as safe as JF-17, but a lot better than F-35.

Having worked around so called 4th generation jets, I can say for an airframe which defies both the laws of physics & gravity that the F-35 has a better safety record than many previous fighters! For an aircraft which came off the drawing board in the late 1990s' , and took flight in 2006, and went active about 2015 time frame, even skeptical me must admit F-35 has a better safety record than anything that came before it! And before squark , remember, this is still cutting edge tech and not fully mature tech! There is much more to be yielded by this tech! Stay tuned!

@BITStudioCode Of all the aircraft china produced, most of the aircraft that crashed were either copies, licensed built, or iterations of older soviet planes up to the J-8, after that there's only ever been about 2 incidents with the j-10, an air collision and a bird strike, and 3 incidents with the J-15, 2 due to aircraft malfunctions, and one bird strike, all happened years ago, the nearest one was in 2017, that's quite good considering china has about no experience with aircraft prior to thoses events.
