China has the largest economy in the world right now. Currently their government devalued their currency to keep manufacturing in China more attractive. Hence it looks like their economy is smaller than the US but that is not the case. This strategy works for China since their local economy is large enough to sustain companies without replying on exports to make investments profitable. India should learn from China’s economic policies to understand the importance of growing domestic companies and protecting them from foreign competitors the stifle Indian companies and its long term economic potential. If the governance along with infrastructure improves, India will be able to build systems with incentives to be able to accomplish technological progress with innovation. I hope we take a lesson from the Chinese playbook.
