Awesome because I want to be an Air Force fighter pilot. I don’t have glasses, and I don’t need them currently, but I like to hear that I have some wiggle room with my eyesight.
@thecombatsystemsofficercha5095 жыл бұрын
They've gotten a lot more flexible with corrective procedures being available, the biggest issue that faces most people with bad eyesight is depth perception and color vision (air force is really picky about that), best of luck!

just to clear up some of the comments i’ve been seeing, you can wear glasses, contacts, you can get eye surgery (but it’s better to get the surgery while your in the air force or navy) and the helmet is the hgu-55, the oxygen mask is the mbu-20

How can I become an air force pilot?
@moth_milk Жыл бұрын
you start by going to any college for 4 years and getting a bachelors or masters degree (history, engineering, etc.) you go to flight school, go through multiple difficult tests, and hopefully get in as a pilot
@rageking21235 жыл бұрын
What do I need to do in order to become a pilot in the military. Thanks for your service.
@andrewkim13094 жыл бұрын
First you’d have to become an Airforce/Navy officer, 3 ways, OTS, ROTC with bachelors degree, or by graduating the service academy. There is a test (AFQT) with a high enough score you can compete to get a pilot slot (very selective and competitive if did not attend service academy). Once you get selected, you chose which track, or which aircraft you want to operate. You train at an AFB for 1 year and upon graduation, you’ll be flying as 2 Lt or 1 Lt

Can I fighter pilot have glasses and where does oxygen tube hook up too?
@WilliamRichter724 жыл бұрын
Michael Fojas im not a pilot by any means but have done plenty of research. Yes a fighter pilot can wear glasses in flight (Any Air Force pilot for that matter). The Air Force gives you badass frames to wear specifically for when you fly. In the initial screening what they will do is waiver your vision requirements and most people can get a waiver as long as you have normal color vision and a few other things. I have a mild astigmatism and myopia but I’m not letting that stop me. The frames are designed to go around the oxygen mask where the tube is hooked up to. If you’re curious, ArtCraft Optical is the company that supplies the prescription frames for pilots. I’ve been towards this goal since I was 6 and I’m not letting some blurry vision stop me😂 just a few more years and ill be there!
@almerindaromeira83523 жыл бұрын
It hooks up to a CRU unit which is chest mounted on the harness. From there it has a line for bailout oxygen in the seat and a big hose with a Quick Disconnect to an Oxygen Regulator on the aircraft panel. Some units like a CRU 94B has another hose to inflate a Anti G vest part of the Combat Edge program. It requires a special regulator with PBG function in order to work. BTW just for sake of completeness his loadout doesn't have Communication Ear plugs which are basically in-ear earphones tied to the helmet and allow you to listen the comms better.

Bro this is what I was looking for. Also pls answer my query which you can do easily. At the time of takeoff Fighter Airplane is balanced on both sides with equal number of weapons. When it fires a missile / rocket only below one wing, weight decreases below that wing compared to another (because another wing still has the weapon below it unfired). Than how does Airplane balances itself in such situation? thanks
@ciri1512 жыл бұрын
On modern jets you don't really control the aircraft directly with your flight stick. So if you want to turn left, you push your control stick to the left and it sends signals to the computer which make the jet turn left. This is called fly by wire. So when you fire a rocket and the jet becomes unbalanced the computer does all kinds of calculations to keep the jet level. PS: This is a very basic explanation from a enthusiast. I'm not a professional at all..
