Slightly tangential to this topic, but is it possible to do a sort of day in the life of or general work-style expectations for a Space Operations Officer in the future? I saw your video on the different sub fields for that job which helped a lot, but I'm curious as to what the work life looks like for one so that I can have realistic expectations. -Are Officers hands on doing computer-based tasks like the enlisted Space Operators, walking around coordinating and giving orders, or in the back filling out paper work, etc.? -What responsibilities can you expect to have as a junior officer in this field? Things like that. This seems to be one of the key roles within the Space Force and looks interesting, but it would be pretty sad if I joined as one and found out I hated the type of work an Operations Officer does on a daily basis. Thanks for the videos.

Based on the odds, how competitive it all is, and how long it will all take, is even worth it to try to get into the rated jobs? Is there a way to do it without being stuck doing 4 years in the air force if I don't get a rated job slot?

Space Studies through American Military University. But I’d look into what degrees the USSF is looking for. I’ve heard that they are currently looking for very specific degrees but I’d imagine them opening that up eventually.
Is it acceptable if the letter of recommendation for the airforce packet is from an officer from another branch, or let's say army in my case?

Hello! Thank you so much for the information! I am currently a physical therapy student, working on my DPT, and I’m planning to apply to be a physical therapist in the AF once I’m done with school. This is a couple years out, but I’m working as a personal trainer as well with my Bachelors in exercise science. I’m currently not certified as a personal trainer, as my degree was enough for the position, but I was wondering if it would boost my application to have on top of my degree & doctorate? Or if the experience itself would be enough? Thank you for all the info though! I haven’t been able to find much anywhere, but your videos are very helpful!

I recently graduated with a B.S. in aerospace and am currently pursuing a M.S. in Aerospace (Bioastronautics). I'm exploring options for after I graduate and the Space operations officer position in USSF seems intriguing to me. Is it possible as a civilian to join the Space force for a position like this (not including the necessity to complete OTS or anything, but just to be considered for the position in general)?

I had my phone call with an officer recruiter today and he said I qualify for RPA (due to my age, 34, and degree). I am currently in my first year of grad school for social work (graduation date of Dec 2021) and was interested in AF clinical social worker career. RPA is a 10 year commitment, which doesn’t exactly qualify towards social work. The AFOQT is Jan 18 and I am not ready 😫 RPA was actually one of the options I was researching beforehand (didn’t mention it to the recruiter). I feel so conflicted right now!
@SpaceNerdConfessions4 жыл бұрын
Have you gotten in contact with a Health Professions Air Force Recruiter?? They will help with your questions on the social worker side rather than a regular recruiter. I’d recommend you give them a call!! As far as the AFOQT there are many practice tests available online and you can AFOQT study material through Amazon. Take advantage of your resources!! Hope this helps.

@@SpaceNerdConfessions I have spoken with the health professions recruiter and I can’t enter that program without a Licensed clinical social worker license (LCSW), which typically takes 1-2 years with supervision. I also bought a few of the study guide books, just skimmed them. I really wanted to join the AF to follow my brother and grandpa’s footsteps, but I feel my age is playing a huge part too.

@AdamKeele Жыл бұрын
You can have more opportunities in that situation if you're active, but you really have to make up for it in everything you do in enlisted trainings. Also, it might be a good time to look at grad school so you can demonstrate you're capable of more. Maybe even consider a second degree that is complementary to yours so you don't have to take too many more classes to get it--just make sure you do well though! The Air National Guard can be easier as long as you demonstrate you have what it takes to be a good officer and learned from your past mistakes, and might be it easier to commision with minimum sources. BUT, one of the things about being an officer is exceeding the standards. Do everything you can to improve everything in your life. Also, the bar is pretty low for the Army, but you need to be really OK with living a life on illogical side and a lower standard of living, even as a officer.
