At this point in the series, Usagi is tired of fighting. She has destroyed so many villains, with her powers. They never had a chance to redeem themselves, aside the Ayakashi Sisters who were given a chance to live as humans with the Silver Crystal's healing powers. I used to reject this series thinking Usagi was weak, but in fact, she was strong to not fight. She had enough of hurting people. She is the Senshi that brings people together, and she didn't want to keep doing it. She wanted to a find a way to save the world without causing more hurt.

SerenadeofTwilight The manga ending, I think is better. After she still offers to accept Galaxia, the later ends up deciding to join SM, never knowing that kind of forgiveness. Chaos kills here, and SM jumps into the cauldron, purifying it. And then happy ending.

It;s actually not Cosmos. The creators said it's been mistaken to be Cosmos, but its actually just the Light of Hope, and they made the decision to not include Cosmos in the anime, a decision which Naoko Takeuchi was not happy with.

If anyone is wondering, I quoted this directly from Sailor Cosmos's page on the Sailor Moon Wiki: "Sailor Cosmos does not appear at all in the anime, though many fans have mistaken a screenshot silhouette of the Light of Hope for Sailor Cosmos." I thought the silhouette was Cosmos, too, at first, but it isn't. Which makes me question why it looks so much like Usagi, with the odangos and wings. Maybe the Light of Hope can take the form of whoever cherishes it? If that makes any sense. XD

I think it's just a chara design choice, they took Chibi chibi from the manga (Sailor Cosmos) and changed her into Galaxia seed, the light of hope. So that figure it's just an adult Chibi chibi.

Since Neo Queen Serenity loses her ability to transform, i refuse to believe Usagi is Sailor Cosmos (Usagi dissapeared eventually since Princess Serenity took over Usagi's body and thats why NQS is unable to transform) So if NQS isn't Sailor Cosmos, who is? The only possible option is Sailor Chibi Moon. Plus Sailor Cosmos said she'll be back when Sailor Moon accepts her fate. She also said Eternal Sailor Moon is the new Sailor Cosmos. Since Usagi pretty much accepted her fate, i dont think Usagi is Sailor Cosmos. Also Chibimoon is refered as "Sailor Moon" in the future

I remember from the original English releases (official? I *think* so, but can't confirm; I sold my set for desparately needed cash to a collector that hopefully still appreciates them) of the manga reading that Cosmos was thenform of Serenity that had run away from the final battle against Chaos. This was after losing her friends and prince, and having been isolated from them even before that for reasons icr. And had been running-fighting-running from Chaos ever since. Until there was nothing left in the universe that Chaos hadn't devoured, growing ever stronger while she grew weaker and more lonely. . So she found a way to send herself, in the form of Chibi-Chibi, back to the past to comfort Sailor Moon when she was lonely and lost and frightened, so that her past-self would have some emotional support to bolster her courage. . The anime was different, ofc, with Chibi-Chibi being Galaxia's star seed that Galaxia cast out in a last-ditch effort to protect it when she sealed Chaos inside her body but realized it was taking her over, and Chibi-Chibi found it's way to the light of Sailor Moon. This difference caused confusion and fan-wars, as such things do. . Oooooor maybe I'm totally misremembering and confusing this for the plot of a fanfic, who can say at this point! xD

That silhouette, sailor cosmos or not, is 100% based off of Sailor Cosmos design. She has the long heart shaped odangos and the same cloak as well. I'm going to *believe* it was Sailor Cosmos, even if it wasn't. The figure is definitely based off of Sailor Cosmos design though.

I really think that pink looking energy has mind of its own. If you pay attention to it, when she really battles. That pink power illuminates. I believe sailor moons Spirit is in that star seed along with with whatever soul she left in the future during her passing, giving it to sailor Galaxia the new ruler in a distant future that could not win the new galaxy wars, thus going back to a previous more powerful entity (sailor moon) watch is what you seen cosmos

Well she did manage to save Nephrite, Alan and Ann, the Sisters, Diamond, and Sapphire, Tomoe, Hotaru, The Amazon Trio and Quartet, even Nehelania. I think its also because those villains in the end chose to be saved by redemption. Galaxia was never really evil, she just had Chaos sealed within her to save the galaxy, and she already found out that she could still be saved within, and succeeded.

@@CarolinaSCraftsMakeupFood But the issue with that is Sailor Chaos explained the sailor wars keep repeating throughout time and it was said Serena would forever have to face her enemies over and over again. Alternate timelines would explain it but in the anime, it was stated there was an ecological disaster that froze the earth even though that went unexplained. And when Neo Queen Serenity wakes them up, her & King Darien become rulers only to face the negamoon. They came up with a good story but lousy writing to explain it all.

What happened was that sailor galaxia tried to trap chaos within her body so it wont harm anyone but unfortunately chaos managed to takeover her body, at the end usagi managed to take chaos out of her body and make her the way she was, galaxia asks usagi if chaos is defeated and she responds with "It went back to where it belonged, to everyone's minds"
