Then on top of his perfect build he has the drive, dedication and proper psychological makeup to push himself and compete at the highest level. All of these factors (physical, drive, psychological state) had to come together just perfectly in order to produce the most amazing “specimen” this sport has ever seen. The chances of that happening again in our lifetime are astronomical . As an American I have nothing but love for Lyles but Bolt is just a rarity .

Have you noticed after Bolt became the best in 2008 that the 100 m times changed every year until his retirement depending on Bolt's form? In 2009 Bolt and Gay but also Powell were running hellishly fast which lead to the WR 9.58 and Gay running 9.71 and 9.69 PB. In 2010 they were all much slower and close around 9.80 on average. In 2011 they were all close again between 9.78 and 9.79. In the year of the Olympics in 2012 they were even faster again Bolt 9.63, Blake 9.69 and 9.75 while Gatlin and Gay ran 9.79 and 9.80. A year later even though it was the WC times went much slower again with Bolt running 9.77 SB and Gatlin also running 9.77 SB in 2014. In 2015 only Gatlin ran 9.74 and yet he couldn't beat Bolt, just like in the Olympics 2016 when both ran only 9.81 at their fastest. So you can clearly see 2 things here: The fastest times always happened when Bolt was in great shape. When he ran "only" in the high 9.70s so did the competition. And more importantly it also indicates a high level of PED use. You can't run like between 9.60 to 9.75 in one season, while then everybody's time drops in the following next 2 seasons by 1/10 only to for the same people who also got older now run again in the 9.60 to 9.75 range in the next Olympics. Imagine you are a clean body builder who built 15 lbs of lean muscles naturally in 3 years, then trains much less for the next 2 years and loses 5 lbs of muscle. Then you work out hard again for just 1 year and gain 10 lbs back. It's impossible.
@0LLy7963 ай бұрын
I can't speak on the others but Bolt was tested... A lot. No way you think he could keep doing what he did and be on PEDs. He would be too big of a target to miss. And you can't say they would sweep it under the rug cos he and his teammates were tested after the 4x100 which led to them losing a gold medal in 2016 I think cos one of the teammates wasn't clean. I doubt Gatlin would have been dirty too. He was already done dirty by being caught early in his career. He would've been too smart to get caught again
@martifrey33573 ай бұрын
@@0LLy796 You sound naive man. You can't go from 10.04 in 2007 to 9.68 in 2008 it's impossile. And what's even more impossible is Bolt destroying all former WR holders and sprinters "clean" who were busted for PED's, like Gatlin, Johnson, Montgomery etc. As for Gatlin not being dirty: man are yoou kidding? He ran 9.85 in 2004, got busted later and banned for 4 years and then in 2015 at age of 35 he runs 9.74??? lmao Use logic man.
@FreshmanFrenzy3 ай бұрын
@@martifrey3357 well logically speaking if you were to try and catch anyone for using PEDs it’d be Bolt and they didn’t…. he never failed any tests for PEDs the entire decade long run he had. Sound like a hater to me. May as well say every Olympic all timer is using PEDs.

@@martifrey3357 i wouldnt be so sure. bolt was the world youth record holder running 20.1 at 16 and world junior record holder running 19.93 at 17. He already had the sub 10 potential in him the whole time. He did 10.04 at the end o his 2007 compaign where he was the world silver medalist in the 200m. Bolt even as a kid was built different.
@martifrey33573 ай бұрын
@@mightysins3842 I know but even in the 200m he was just 3rd best in 2007. His explosion in 2008 is not explainable just due to talent and hard work. He had both but you can't simply go from 10.04 and 19.90 in 2007 to 9.68 and 19.30 within 8 months naturally. You can't possibly even do it in a whole career without PEDs.

CONFIDENCE MAKES YOU WIN. IF YOU HAVE BO CONFIDENCE , THEN WHAT YOU HAVE IS FEAR, AND THAT IS A LOOSER RIGHT THERE!! BE BOLD, BE FEIRCE, BE JAMAICAN. OUR ANCESTORS FIGHTING SPIRIT SAID IT ALL. BIG UP USAIN BOLT❤!!
@leonardcollins81223 ай бұрын
He said Noah Lyles as the confident edge over his opponents, but he don't recognize how NL works, prepares, trains . NL isn't just talk...he's the real deal. He's right on 1 thing...talent is what you're born with. NHe was born with the frame to excel in track. The closest that you could compare is Michael Johnson who admits...bolt run form is unorthodox due to his spine. God made him that way. If bolt fully committed 365...he could've been better? Maybe we'll never know. Noah Lyles... has a smaller frame, puts everything into being his best..leaves nothing unscrutinzed in the off season. We will never say what if...he's bringing it everyday in the off-season...and for that I will root for him no matter what. Lastly Justin Gatlin was old too. Dude was banned from competing for like years. Bolt said himself he runs fastest against competitors. Well, Justin didn't have any for years...we'll have to say what if for him. But when it came time to face Bolt one last time...he took him down. Was that Gatlin max potential. We don't know, he was sidelined for years, but it was enough to send the most iconic and accomplished sprinter of all time off with a loss. Don't discredit Justin Gatlin

"Sidelined" lol. Way to side step that Gatlin is the biggest PED cheat in sprinting history. How Ben Johnson has his career ruined, but juice head Gatlin doesn't shows how ignorant Americans are

I don’t think anyone will break 9:58 maybe in 1000 years from now
@lapislazuli54512 ай бұрын
You're wrong. All it will take is another person with a similar build to Usain Bolt (and that's very likely within 10 to 20 years), with a bit of training.

It will get broken folks. They all do. I appreciate his candor and he was amazing to watch. I can also appreciate Noah Lyles for his efforts without dimishing he or Usain. Not every year is a World record year. They never say this stuff about women’s records. It’s kinda of bizzare. We can talk about Shacarri or whoever wins without putting Flo Jo in the sentence.
@eduardorossi73102 ай бұрын
Yes it will be broken, for sure. But not by the present generation. Actually, studying Bolt will be the key to beat his own record.

IMO there would have to be some change to the race for anyone to beat Bolt anytime soon. Like some new advanced blocks or special shoes or change in track surface. He was just that good.

The only way Usain record will be broke you go have to have a guy that's about 6'5 or 6'6 and they go have to have the speed like gatlin, if that happens he's record will be broken cause height and speed is were the time change

Bolt is good and Liles is good and to compare them as who is the the best you really can't because they are two different people of two different times. Noah doesn't have any known injuries and he's young and getting stronger

Newer sprinters have better tracks and equipment. So if the old runner is still faster, it's very clear that he's better
