Perfectly explained. Best kilt and the rest you can always top up & combine in many different ways.

I wear a blue Scottish bonnet pretty much all the time. I've yet to find an outfit it doesn't look good with.

Tricorns, bicorns, and unicorns! :D To explain, these are best worn for faires and larping, and perhaps reenactments (though be prepared to answer to the period police). The bicorn would include the fore-and-aft chapeau and the unicorn is what I like to call the cavalier/musketeer hat. I'm all about wearing whatever you like as it comes to hats, shirts and footwear with your kilts. It's expensive, so get as much wear out of it as you're willing, and be confident. And if you're wanting to wear a wild patterned shirt with a kilt, perhaps go with a solid contemporary kilt rather than a tartan kilt. However, it's your body and your style... and Paisley is a Scottish name. ;-)

It's actually duve sgian dubh bh is v in Gaelic
@GreenmanDave5 жыл бұрын
Not exactly. The Irish are likely to pronounce 'bh' as 'v' with more consistency, but it's not always so in Scots Gaelic. 'Bh' and 'mh' tend to flip-flop between 'v' and 'w' sounds depending on where they're used, what vowels are near them, what other words are used, etc... The same fluidity can be applied to 'gh' and 'dh' as sometimes they make a 'y' sound, sometimes they're silent. In this case, the proper pronunciation is 'Skee-an duu'.
