this video makes me want to relocate my dish and try to get some other sats and actually set up the usals. My stuffs has been set up for over 11 years and still hanging in there on KU Sucks they took a bunch of channels off. beem thinking about adding a cband. dishes arent cheap. and donors are hard to come by

Robbie Strike, from your experience what is easier to set a up an actuator or an USALS? I've only installed an USALS and It's not that complicated.

With the Actuator you will have to get the position just right for true south. Like all. and you will have to manually enter in each satellite. I also have done this with a HH motor! So Usals can be a bit easier! (Done Right)

@@RobbieStrike Never had an actuator on my satellite dish I use HH motor and I use USALS in the satellite receiver menu, and I get the best signal strength and quality on most satellites including weak satellites or transponders. Most of the satellite dish sold in Romania don't need an actuator only a HH motor, because a 100 cm dish is more than enough for FTA KU-BAND.

Hi, I have got a question. My dish is on dead straight and my motor is set to 0, so do I have to move the dish on the motor arm or on the L bracket to point the dish to 0.8 west??

At 4:13 where your screen shows Motor - Usals, mine says None so I don't think this is ever going to work! Even if the motor could be put in how can you move it? With all the important steps left out showing the setup this is never going to work!

How many satellites can you get overall?

In general an USALS motor has 80 West to 80 East turning point and this is the AMIKO brand. It depends by your location. For example in my country Romania with a 100 cm satellite dish and a USALS I can receive from 30W Hispasat to 68.5 Intelsat most of them are Ku Band satellites.

In my area, I get Channels on 87w, 89w, 91w, 95, 97w, 99w, 101w, 103w, 105w, 124w. There is more satellites that I can tune but they dont have much on them! You can look them up as I say by looking at www.sathint.com

@@RobbieStrike In Europe is the opposite. With a C-BAND dish you don't get much unless you are interested in channels from Russia, India or Pakistan. Most of the satellites broadcast on KU-BAND and you have plenty of Free To Air TV and Radio channels. North America should start broadcasting on KU-BAND and ditch the C-BAND it will be a major advantage especially for people living in rural areas and don't want pay TV

@@Nicholas_Chris I agree. Here in the UK, you would need a prime focus dish bigger than 1.8m to get anything watchable on C-Band, and you would also need planning permission. I have a 110cm dish with a motor and can get between 34.5w to 45e.

There is only one s its U sals also in the video you say your setting the dish angle to 38.5 you are not you are setting it to 20 degrees as stated in the dish pointer web site for a sg2100 motor. 44 for motor 23 for dish .

I ended up for the dish is just move the de incline part is Pointed until the signal was at its best on 87 and then I was able to get all the others!

@@RobbieStrike Ok that was quite a sentence . What i am saying is the declination angle has nothing to do with the angle of the dish / motor , it is the difference between true north and magnetic north at a given latitude . You get the dish angle based on the type of motor you have it is different for different motors . I get your trying to help people thank you but at least give them correct information . google declination / de incline
