When Janet Evans did 8.16 in 800m everyone said that 1.02 pace was just unreal and now she is almost swimming 1.01 for 1500m

Cheeeese and rice.... The mindset required to do this is unfathomable to me. She has had nothing to chase but her own world record for like 4 years...and yet continues to get stronger

Her 800m split in this race was faster than any other woman has swam the 800m freestyle race. Absolutely incredible.

She's about to shatter the 800 and 1500 record in Tokyo, isn't she...oh boy. Also, thank god they finally have 1500 for women so average people can see the full Ledecky experience at the Olympics.

Crazy... Is it normal that they show you the number of the laps you already got? Cause here in Germany they show you the number of laps you still have to swim...

What you see here is a record that will probably never be broken. 15:20:48 will likely never be reached by anyone again. There are only three other female swimmers besides Ledecky to even swim the 1500m on the short course faster than Ledecky did in this race on the long course.
@gavin45864 ай бұрын
ledecky went 15:30 in a “slow pool today” but sadly i don’t think she’ll break this record

She obviously broke the world record and that’s great but breaking it by 5 seconds isn’t really that impressive for a 1500. Over the full race you only have to drop like .2 of a second a 50
@ciaranhansen37356 жыл бұрын
one of the most moronic things i have ever read
@billybob66046 жыл бұрын
I don’t think you are a swimmer dropping more than 5 seconds shows a huge improvement
@nicholasmadel8926 жыл бұрын
Billy Bob lol no yeah dropping 5 seconds over a short distance race is but when the race is that Long it’s not really shattering the record. It’s basically the equivalent of breaking the 50 time by .05 of a second. Yeah you break it but it’s not shattering it
@TheDamoetz6 жыл бұрын
That's a big improvement, its so hard to stay in the pace for long distance swim
