What Adam's talking about is night and day different from T Swift. It's about one's personal identity having to be masked in a song because the music industry wouldn't support his expression of his natural orientation. And that's the least of what he's dealt with. He's fought for years to gain a rightful place for LGBTQ artists. TS has been given every advantage in the industry and has never experienced the kind of censorship and downplaying of real talent that Adam has so often faced. Lucky for him he's got a truly remarkable talent and the balls to keep breaking down barriers.
