25:40 - the chess metaphor needs some work - all of a sudden your pawn has turned into a King? A King? Not a queen?

Does Hunter Taylor play for Ring? Where's he? Why is he not being discussed. He's good for some D's.

10:30 - don't you have to set your pivot foot and then tap the disc? Not tap the disc set the foot and throw. This looks unfair to the defense.
@danielgajohnson
@danielgajohnson 5 жыл бұрын
The defense can begin counting the stall as soon as the player catches the disc. Watch the replay and you'll see the Ring defender starting his stall count even though the disc is not within the playing field. If you are on defense and you try and layout for a block, but the offensive player also lays out and catches the disc inside the field of play, you should start your stall count before either of you hit the ground. As soon as the disc stops rotation and you are within 3 meters of the person with the disc, start counting.
@solfeinberg437
@solfeinberg437 5 жыл бұрын
@@danielgajohnson What does this have to do with my comment. I'm talking about tapping the disc in after running out, and then setting a pivot foot. It comes a few seconds after the time I put above.
@danielgajohnson
@danielgajohnson 5 жыл бұрын
@@solfeinberg437 Ok, I understand your question now. As per USAU rules, you are correct. The proper sequence of events to put the disc back into play again after an in-bound player with the disc becomes out-of-bounds is establishing a pivot first, and then tapping the disc in. This is from Chapter IX, Section H.4 and Chapter XIII, Section B of the 11th Edition of the Rules.

@10:40 can you do that? ground tap after returning to playing field from OB, take a step before plant and throw--is that legal?
@solfeinberg437
@solfeinberg437 5 жыл бұрын
That was my question. Pretty sure you need to set your pivot foot (in bounds, of course - or on the edge?) and then tap, right? Otherwise when and where does the defense set up?

@@stencil25 catch at 24s throw at 33s is 9 seconds. If I count in my head I get to 8 stalls before he throws starting when I would have started the stall count. Also the professional league only has 7 second Ref count because its about equal to 10 seconds of player counting. I agree fast count on this play but its close enough to not hate on the observer imo.
@solfeinberg437
@solfeinberg437 5 жыл бұрын
That did seem a bit fast - I got to nine and felt like I was counting a little fast. Under the heat of play, though, it's easy to count fast. I wonder about that Mickle play where he held the disc for well over 10 seconds.
@justinmckeen6294
@justinmckeen6294 5 жыл бұрын
its the responsibility of the thrower to call fast stall, if the mark gets to 10 even if it's fast count the observer has to respect the throwers decision to not call fast count
