Right he does, Burroughs is one of the only wrestlers that can actually take it to Dake so he really has to step his game up there.

@daw1627 жыл бұрын
Dake is tough with a lead. Taylor can't even shoot on him, only burroughs. This weight is getting crowded, and if Hall comes out and stays at 74, it'll get even more crowded (burroughs will probably be done by then). I haven't been following the new weight classes - hopefully there will be a little more between 65 and 86.

He was "not trying" or "trying his life"? You're right about the first part. He looked a bit tired and Imar is always dangerous, so Dake put it on defense cruise but had to be careful. With time Imar could be the one beating everyone. All these guys around this weight are like iron.

Martinez hit his biggest heights early in his college career. After beating Nolf, the best wrestler he faced in college, should have won four NCAA titles. Instead, he gets done by the same move twice by the same opponent. On the other hand, Dake continually got better as a wrestler. He lost four matches during his first two seasons, and he jumped 2-3 more levels in his junior and senior seasons, culminating in the win against David Taylor in the 2013 NCAA final.

Martinez is good, but he's never going to be Dake/Cael/Jordan/Steiber good. He doesn't have the horsepower or the gas tank, and the heavy hands and slapping that work in college won't work in international.
@SuperBeast19946 жыл бұрын
True. Even though he only lost one match on the finals he wasn't dominating his oponnents as much as ge was at 157. At 157 he was a monster and was bigger and stronger than everyone in the weight class. He definitely should go back down to 157

@lasvegasloner46216 жыл бұрын
Not sure about this, but I recall the five or six freestyle matches I had back in the 90's, never scoring a point for a wrestler pushing the other out. It's been a long time and I was definitely more into foikstyle so I'm prepared to be wrong, but I thought the pushout rule was added just in the last 20 years or less.
@ElearningDigest6 жыл бұрын
Same here. I wrestled in the 80s and 90s and there was never a pushout rule then. It's a fairly recent addition to freestyle.
