If your TH-D75A is discharged you can charge it with USB-C power or 12v in. USB has to be rated at over 2.0 AMPs.

Don- After being a Jeeping GMRS guy for years I just ordered my very first HAM ever. A TH-D75A🎉 You are a wealth of information and look forward to learning this radio inside and out.

Have been using the two TH-D75's I have daily. Loving the radio and it's features. In my opinion the battery has acceptable life as well as charging time. I'm currently torn between the TH-D75 and Icom ID-52. I love my ID-52 but the TH-D75 is really growing on me. If Yaesu had something in the class of the TH-D75 and ID-52 I think my head would explode.

If you plug less than 13.8 volts into the DC-in it works fine. My AGM battery that I use of course is not 13.8 volts, it's 12 and right now it's only at 10 volts and my radio will transmit just fine. Probably would all the way down to 7.5 volts. I mean, after all the radio battery pack itself is only around 7.4 volts fully charged. My AGM battery is only motorcycle sized and 9 amps max and I only charge it once a month.

Operating voltage is 11.0 to 15.9. Goes thru a regulator. Good luck.

Thank you

I thought you weren't supposed to transmit while charging? Might have been in a different manual though, and I just follow it for all HTs to play it safe.

Power management has changed. Yes I don’t recommend it but some have asked this question in case of an accidental tx on charge

Can a 3.0 / 3.1Amp charging brick be used to charge the D75?

Never mind. If I just referred to the manual.. :) "To avoid a failure or abnormal heat generation, be sure to use a USB converter AC adapter (sold separately) with a 5 V output voltage and a current of 2 A or higher"
