P.S. In the schematic I forgot to power Q1. Please power it from the positive rail in the base of Q1 also with 5 volt. I just woke up today after a long night trying to finish a long list of unfinished stuff for this year ( work related ). Me too my friend. I am really excited about this one. I just discovered last night why the CW signals sound a little scratchy and basically as soon as I touch the ground of the receiver then all of a sudden it sounds fantastic. So it must be something on the filtering part as the interferences are making it sound "scratchy". I guess a metallic enclosure may fix that problem. Testing more these coming days. The only thing that made me give up the construction of radios is the lack of variable capacitors. I still have a reflex radio that works very well (it only works with a coil without a variable capacitor and what's cool is that all the stations change by themselves and come in the same time so that I don't understand the news, which anyway today is just propaganda. I know that there is an alternative with varicap diodes, but I also have to order them from China and the scheme of a radio becomes more complicated with another potentiometer and another current source... Ohh I agree with you when it comes to the radio stations and the news... maybe that is the reason why I concentrate mostly on the amateur radio bands... not on the broadcast stations 😅😅😅. About the varicap... I rarely use one of those. Basically most of the time I simply use 1N4001 regular rectifier diodes as varicap. For fine tuning you can also use a regular potentiometer as well... you just have to change the value of one capacitor in order to make it easier to tune between stations. Nice regen. Have you tried a variometer in place of the fixed coil, they were popular in the early crystal radios, eliminating the need of a variable capacitor.

I never tried a variometer, but is like you read my mind haha. I do have on the table another extremely simple regen that will use one variometer, for the regen control. I wanted to post a video on that one but I didn't had the time to build the variometer properly so I ended up concentrating on this one instead. So we will have one with variometer soon as well. 73, YO6DXE.

Obrigado também. A antena é uma End Fed Half Wave 40-10m. Funciona tão bem mesmo com um fio de 4-5m. Muitas vezes noto que tem boa sensibilidade se for propagação, pois ainda recebe mesmo depois de desconectar a antena (mas nem sempre). Boas festas. 73, YO6DXE.

dual gate isolated fet looks very applicable in regen receivers (e.g. BF998), just an idea for your new simple regen...

@@dxexplorer How is the progress? When you will finish this project, how will be possible to buy PCB? Do you have ebay shop, or you will suggest to ordr directly in PCBWay? But PCBWay minimal qty is 10pcs which is not needed to every single amateur.

@kestutisrimkevicius8891 I was a bit busy filming two new videos and I also had some photo shoots but this coming week i will finish it. I do not sell PCB boards but I will put the link to the project on PCBWay. Minimum quantity is just 5 not 10. Most of my friends when they order the order together and split the spendings... is cheaper this way. So they all get one board each.

Probably because I forgot to run the power to that one in the schematic 😁. But is not the final schematic so its all good. I will fix that as well in the final version of the schematic. What's the O.D. of the PVC, and length? Will a J310 work for Q2 instead? For the 5V supply, I would add a 1n4002 to protect the circuit from reverse polarity! --- Any chance in the future you might extended this to 10M, or maybe a separate project?

The diameter of the PVC pipe is 13mm... I never measured the length. Usually I cut them longer ( 4 cm ) then cut them to size after I made de coil depending on how many turns of wire I have on the coil. I thought about placing a reverse voltage protection diode, but since is pretty much impossible for me to reverse the voltage with the USB connector, I thought it won't be needed. I could place one in the final design though. About the 10m band.. you just have to remove some turns from L2 until you can receive the 10m band as well. Then you would need probably a larger value variable capacitor in order to cover more lower frequencies. I will try to play with a varactor diode with larger capacitance for the main tuning and see how much I can cover. Ideally I would like to make it 80 to 10m. Let's see if I succeed 😅. Now I'm 76 with Dementia, so I know I wouldn't be able to pass the test. The electronics part would be OK, but the rest would be hard. Oh well. At least they can't stop me from listening! 😀

But I set up stuff to be automatically deleted when it comes to comments that have swearing and bad words... just because I know lots of kids watch the videos too and I don't want them to deal with the bad language used by some people. I try to keep the channel clean for the kids. 😁

I did not finished the design yet. Still making some more tests to get the best out of it... and also trying to cover the entire HF amateur radio bands from 1.4MHz to 30MHz. But...
