Bunker 120mm automatic gun system / ersta Battery Landsort

During my training to a professional army officer back in the 1980's, We visited a Ersta battery that was in use back then. They also made a demonstration firing of the complete system. Very impressive, sad that it only where 6 battery's produced. The system would be up to date even today, it was ahead of time when it was delivered.

Irgendwann im August bin ich jedenfalls schon eine Woche in den Stockholmer Schären verbucht. In Kroatien skippern wird jedenfalls ur-geil, egal wann!!!

sehr schönes video... ich selber war 1998 i västerhanige bei einem schweden zu gast eine woche......die hatten dort auch spezialisten in der gegend die sich mit der wiederherstellung völlig zerstörter festplatten beschäftigt haben...nynäshamn dürfte massiv was mit geheimdiensten zu tun gehabt haben......gesehen habe ich aber in den wäldern nynäshamn damals nix bei der s bahn station...auf der anderen seite bei ventspils war eine riesen spionageanlage der russen genau gegenüber......;) die russen haben in ventspils jede ameise in nynäshamn gesehen wurde mir in ventpils 2014 versichert.....leider war mein 3er BMW nicht das adequate auto zum russischen radar zu kommen..lg

(The employed 'army' is 21 000 or in that field?) Husqvarna, Hägglunds, LM Ericsson, SAAB, Bofors, NitroNobel, Volvo Flygmotor, Kockums uzw. Die Swedische Waffenindustrie war ganz einfach spitze. Jetzt kein mehr... oder unter ausländische Kontroll. Wer hat das gewünscht? Folgen das Geld oder was?

That English speaking guide isn't very good in English... 😀 5.42 - 120 mm/12 cm gun, not "20 cm". 5.55 - High rate of fire, not "high velocity". Velocity is the speed of the projectile when it's leaving the barrel. 5.57 - The word "chill" might not be totaly wrong, but usually we say that the barrel is water cooled. 7.04 - He says "Arlanda", but the English subtitles says "Orlando". Neither says anything to a non Swede. Arlanda is the main and international airport of Stockholm. 7.53 - Steel doors or gates, not "iron wood". 10.53 - He use "velocity" again, when it should be rate of fire. There are more of English spoken there with a doubtful quality.

Not the guide fault, but pls note 1. That "ERSTA" is not the name of the place where the battery in the video is located. "ERSTA" is short for "ERSättning Tungt Artilleri" (Eng.: "Replacement [for] heavy artillery""). There are places in and around Stockholm with "Ersta" in the name, but this battery is not in any of those places. 2. The "hovercraft" mentioned in the English subtitles are actually air-cushion carts, to move the ammunition in the magazine to the ammunition hoist. Here's another guide "slip" 9:45: I'm protesting ...". What he wants to say is that he is demonstrating (showing, illustrating etc). In Swedish the word, "demonstrera" is used for both in the meaning "demonstrate" and "to protest". This is one of the cutest "Swenglish" manoeuvres I've ever heard! ❤️ 😊
