I noticed, that Michy never plays a forced move (i.g. only one possible way to enter from the bar) but calculates all the variations in his head. To me, this makes no sense - is there a (psychological!?) explanation?

they are probably counting pips and analyzing best and worst case rolls.

They are working out the odds, which are affected by the score and all the elements of the position - as every top backgammon player knows ;-)

@@oliverrietz2705 hey i have a question I downloaded the xg but i dont know why it doesn't show me the best moves. I choose the analysis mode but still it doesn't show anything. Plus when I play against xg+ engine, it plays so dumb! What's wrong with this app?

Roo986 Its not a 3 prime, the 18 point is empty. The bar is thin and the same color as the black arrows, so it’s easy to get confused

Indeed they are risking way too much. Less singles you leave on the board the more chances you have to win
