Seems like when USC wins it's all them. When they lose it's injuries, bad calls, etc... They can't admit that Tulane played a better game that day.

@aunttim2102bob stoops was in interim coach for oklahomas bowl game in 2021. Caleb played in that game

@aunttim2102 yes and no. He had been named head coach, but new coaches typically don't coach the bowl game, hence where stoops came into play. Venables was at the bowl game and watched from the sidelines

Tulane wanted it more and USC lost this game on a lack of execurion in clutch situations. Tulane would have won this game even if it had gone to OT imo

Talent is not sexually transmitted. Just because USC had Jerry Rice’s son doesn’t mean anything. Should USC have won? Logically yes. But they underestimated Tulane and failed to play defense when it mattered the most. That and that drop putting USC at their own 1, the safety followed by more failed defense, what can I say other than they lost.

I was at the game. USC ground out long drives and had a few big plays. Caleb Williams proved he deserved the Heisman Trophy. USC dominated time of possession, but why? Because Tulane scored with lightning speed. Down by 15 with 4:06 left, Tulane scored their first TD of the miraculous comeback in two plays requiring only 16 seconds of clock time! USC was one-dimensional. Tulane showed up strong for all three phases of the game. Tyjae Spears was, as per usual, unstoppable. Michael Pratt rarely needed to throw, but when he did, he was right on target! Great team effort by the Green Wave!
