Have these and I love them. My main complaints are exactly the same as yours. I hate the stock wheels but haven't changed them yet, also don't like the top lacing system, but honestly I don't mind just tightening the buckle. I had the old shadows and they were soooooo flexy. Loved them for park as well as street, but these feel....so much more stable. I've come off a few shaky landings completely fine on these, where the old ones I feel like I would have toppled to the left or right. Also just got some medium oysis I may try and throw on, which should only add to the stability. Don't know if I should go 72mm or 68mm on the outer wheels for a completely flat setup, maybe you can chime in? Going to use the oysis primarily for park/air stuff, while still having the ability to grind in a way that's comfortable for me. Love your videos, cheers!

You can move the heel cuff a little to the front of the soul plate so that the foot doesn't move so much... a skated xsjado almost 10 years and what I'd like about those skates is that you don't need to adapt to the skates. The skates adapt to you

i understand what you mean..in fact i actually skate the smaller size soul plate before and fell good on my size..but at the same time as i said in this video the skate adjust to your tricks and that is awesome...its like cheating...:P

Nah, the problem is the "shell" sizing. The medium plates are still waaaaaaay too huge for size 43-44 shoes. Not just length wise but width wise as well, since they're the same width as the large ones. When I skated Xsjados I downsized to the small shell and used 44 shoes. There was a tiny bit of toe overhang but the plates hugged my shoes and it was amazing. I started on the large shell and it was absolutely horrible. Another issue is that Shadows come with no heel pad in the cuff. A lot of people are complaining about this. The shock absorber is not just there for absorbing shock, but it wedges your shoe in side to side and makes the shoe fit better in the cuff. So your shoe moves around in the front because the plates are too wide, and it moves around in the back too because of no heel pads. 😄

I loved my Xsjado 2.0. Don't have the foot wraps any more unfortunately but they were fantastic for me.

The point of xsjado wasn't just that you can walk right out of your Skate it was that you could Skate in any of your everyday Shoe's in that regard USD totaly missed the point. (Truly sad to think about getting back into Skating and one of the first Vid's you see is xsjado was shutdown and then reworked by USD who thought it's a good idea to remove the signature feature that made the Skate what it was.)

That was absolutely not the point of the original Xsjados. In fact they reccomended against it.

I picked up the 2.0 recently. I can say they grinded like butter but for long skates the cuff was too loose and the bindings dug into my foot when forward flexing. Having the walkable wraps wasn’t all that great because in the time I could get in and out of the bindings I could just as easily slip out of other skates and put on my sneakers. Concept is great but I would just as soon have less complicated skates with those soul plates.

Do you like the 1 piece cuff (like on the Trimax version) or the 2-piece cuff (like on these) better for aggressive skating?

Bummed they decided to not include the heel pad that sits inside the soul frame that was included in the original xsjados. Seems like it helped a lot with any heel movement. I'm getting a little bit of movement with my pair that just came in. You woildnt happen to know where i can get a pair of the pads woild you ricardo?

I really enjoy my shadows too. I would say to buy it more for grinding ledges and rails. The soul plates is so big that you can accidentally cess slide in a bowl and fall which I did a few time. I prefer different skates for transition. I tried them with the Kaltik v2 frame as well and quickly changed that. A taller frame and bigger wheels feels waaaaayyyy too wobbly for this skate. Anyways, it is a really amazing skate and lots of fun to skate. Also, Powerslide did a video of the Updated trimax version with the one piece cuff in which they showed off a new liner with a evo compressed tongue. Eugen also mentioned this in one of his posts when he switched to those skates. Although it isn’t really advertised so if you ordered the trimax you might get the older liner with a fatty tongue. From my experience with the shadow, I would prefer a different tongue or a better lacing system. Cheers

Great review & sick little edit. I skate a UK 9 too. Do you know what shell size the UK 9 uses for the new USD Shadows (small or medium)? Thanks.
@_MJ07_
@_MJ07_ 4 жыл бұрын
It uses a medium shell which was introduced when the 2.0 released. I'd still advise getting as small shell skate though (I think that stops at UK 7 maybe?) And cramming into a uk8 (maybe some 9 liners/footwraps might fit), because the small shell still skates 100x better.
@DJ-nr8cd
@DJ-nr8cd 4 жыл бұрын
@@_MJ07_, thanks for the info. I thought that was the case. As they've dropped the 1/2 sizes I wasn't sure which way they went with the size split. I'll go for the small shell and order a slightly bigger liner seperately and have a play to see what works

Broke these in a few weeks, the straps and side of boots have .3cm of plastic. Useless... clack clack.. can’t use a skate that lasts less than a month. Probably one unity cess slide going 30 on a street and it’ll do it for the front strap

20:14 Why is this? I skate without a shock absorber because I want my feet to be level with the ledge when grinding, but I don't know if it really makes me a better skater or not. But how does it make you faster?
@jtblenker
@jtblenker 4 жыл бұрын
You have more articulation in your ankle so you can push off harder/ longer during a stride. When you elevate your heel you have less length to point your toe/ push during a stride but you have better balance in a raised heel going forward and especially backward.

I'll never understand those spelling nonsenses in English. How do one figure out "Xsjado" is pronounced like "shadow"? "Oysi" like "wish"? Really? 😲🤯 Thank goodness we can buy online, because those things wouldn't sell a single unit in Spain otherwise... 😅 Anyway, I'd love to try them. But honestly as a beginner I prefer to learn grinds on a less "cheating" skate. Though my bearings would definitely appreciate the walkable liner I think 😅
