Hi Gareth, awesome video. You mentioned it was already a template inside of airtable, i can not find it anywhere. Can you share the base by chance or name to the template to find it?
@GarethPronovost3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Just to clarify, the base itself isn't a template, it's the script that has been made as a template by Airtable. You'll need to build the base structure and then you can import the Airtable script template!

This is excellent! In this video you take over the "Days Prior" column from your template base to the tasking base as part of the automation. I would like to be able to do this as well but I'm stuck when it comes to adding more code. Do you have a tutorial on this?
@DeanStairs3 жыл бұрын
Actually I just realized that this doesn't happen in the video. My apologies.

I was running into the same issue and was stressing over what I missed until I also noticed the Days Prior and Due Date don't work in his example.

Great video!! I'm using your formula (with the excpeiont that i call mine due date) and running into an issue. it says it's an invalid formula. Can you help me see the issue please? IF({Due Date},DATEADD({Due Date},-{Days Prior},’days’))

I think you have a minus sign '-' in there that is breaking the syntax.

V nice can then run that script via an automation if you want it to auto add the tasks.

Exactly! I added a button instead on the content record and was thinking about showcasing this in a Part 2 video, but I'm gauging interest in this Part 1 first...

What do you do when you have 20 steps in your template? Airtable Pro only allows 50k rows per base. You'd only be able to have 2500 pieces of content...
@GarethPronovost2 жыл бұрын
The 50k limitation is definitely something to consider - Airtable does offer more than 50k records per base at their Enterprise tier, but if you are sticking to the Pro tier then I'd suggest considering options to delete completed tasks. For example, if content has been published for over 30 days, perhaps it's now acceptable to delete the tasks that got it over the line?
@marcmcdermott47422 жыл бұрын
@@GarethPronovost Thanks. Thinking out loud, another option could be to create "Archive Bases". Depending on usage, could be something like "2021 Published Archive".

@@marcmcdermott4742 exactly! I have some thoughts on best practices for that use case, which I shared here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aonIgmWQd9Obptk
