I’ve found that when I go into Sephora nothing excites me anymore. For the past 2 years I’ve been shopping my stash and repurposing my makeup. Too- dark concealers are now shadow primers, matte liquid lipsticks are blush and eye shadows make great contour powders.

I find it very helpful to mix products, especially if it’s something that isn’t my proper shade or undertone or to make another product better, like mixing an illuminator or bronzer with a more matte foundation, mixing a serum or skin tint in with a thicker foundation, adding a foundation to my moisturizer to create my custom skin tint. Don’t forego mixing products or using a labeled product in other ways. Even adding skincare into your foundations, concealers, cream products to make less dry or flat. Be your own chemist! It’s lots of fun and you find amazing concoctions that you love.

😊Perfect topic!!! I was just thinking how sad it is we all are forgetting /supposed to forget all the pretty formerly hyped make up we bought!! I have some proper old Tarte, UD, Too Faced and ABH palettes and I love them!!! I used my Naked 3 palette yesterday which is so gorgeous and an older Tarte holiday release today. They're still perfectly good and it's a shame it's just sitting there because no one talks about it anymore. Make up that isn't used is just trash and money wasted!

I have a bunch of ELF quads that I've only used maybe once or never at all. I also have almost all the smaller Too Faced palettes, Buttered Rum, Kitty likes to scratch, etc. They get buried. Oh and lots of the loreal infallible small square singles. Do I remember them, nope because they're all buried under all the "new" stuff. I've been using the Milani Highly Rated tubing mascara for about 5 months. This mascara doesn't flake or make my lashes feel brittle - I put abit of mascara on first - then wait about 5 minutes or so, then apply more mascara. I noticed that my lashes have more volume . It removes very easily with warm water too. Take care everyone 🌹

I love this idea! I know this sounds crazy, but I have SO MUCH makeup that it's overwhelming and I feel like I do my makeup less often for that reason. One idea I’ve seen is to have a small container nearby and every week or month, change out the items in it. The thought is to put forgotten items in there to get them into the rotation. As a creature of habit, I’m going to give it a try. 🙂

You know, Emily… maybe at one point I would have been bummed if you used a limited edition or discontinued product because I could not get it anymore. However, nowadays there’s so many products out there that it is pretty easy to find something similar, and you are always so good about mentioning similar products. Not to mention… I come to “hang out” with you, not so much for the products anymore. I’d much rather see you talking up “old stuff” than seeing more of all the new stuff because the new stuff just feels like it’s the same stuff different brand! :) and bonus of using the older products, it is going to be stuff not everyone is talking about and it’ll also give your videos some variety in products for textures, colors, formulas, packaging (i.e., everyone is about cream blushes now. If you bring out your powders, you’re doing something different)

Love this video! I have so many things I totally forget I have! I am going to start putting together some things in a new makeup bag to use for the week. Then i plan to put them back and get new things and do this to rotate and use up what I have. This will also help me with decision making when it comes to choosing what to wear for the day. I often get decision fatigue and keep using the same thing. I hope this helps me!!

I went back to work in February for the first time in a really long time so I’ve been wearing make up almost every day, and although I could afford a new make up I have been giving myself challenges like using the same pallet for a whole week, not bad with a full pallet kind of challenging with a small L’Oreal pallet but I finally hit pan on a bunch of things and absolutely in the challenge has been a full week of only using face products for my three hour glass collections, Including weeks of only using that on my eyes as well, thank you for the inspiration every week and the company because you are delightful

Hey Emily!!! I am not an social media influencer of any kind, but I have a lot of makeup. Especially, eyeshadow palettes. They're from various brands, prices, shapes, and sizes, mostly dupes and drugstore makeup. Today I bought more palettes. There's 2 ABH palettes (soft glam and Norvina) and I got 3 NEW ones from Catrice that you tried recently in a video. I have never tried those brands before. And there a lot more brands I've not tried as well, but at some point I would love to. Its not just eyeshadow palettes that I'm totally interested in. There's complexion products, blush from NYX that just came out, and cream bronzers/contours. For now, I putting them in my cart and waiting cuz I change my mind like I change my underwear. Hahaha! I don't typically use complexion products. I love love love LOVE blush, tho. And I just wanna add some warmth to my skin because I feel very casper-like these days. So I wanna try some new things I dont have in my collection to kinda spruce up. Otherwise, I love "shop my stash" videos and going back to use what's already there. I feel like if we dont use what we have, we waste it, and makeup is not cheap these days. So Kudos to you for all these kinds of videos you've been doing like this. It truly matters.

EMILY...PLEASE HELP?!! Do you know of a dupe for the NYX Suede Matte Lip Liner in the shade Lavender and Lace?? I've looked high and low and it's been discontinued so I thought you might have it and be able to tell me about something close (if not a dupe.) I haven't bought anything new (except to replace what I used up) in almost 2 years. I went thru a frenzy of buying during the covid years & quickly realized, around Christmas '22 that I have more product than I can use in this lifetime! So I'M USING IT. And yes, I'm combining various foundations and blushes ... as well as use eye shadows from different palettes in the same look - it works beautifully! I like these types of videos, thank you

I watched a video tutorial from Painted by Spencer titled Fresh + Dewey Summer makeup. His lip combo was amazing. He used a brown lip liner, a very light application of a red lipstick, and then topped it with a slight shimmery lip gloss. It was gorgeous! I think you'd like it, Em.

Will the L’Oreal Infallible powder foundation work for dry skin when used over a skin tint? What about over tinted sunscreen like DRMTLGY? Thank you Emily for all you do t help us!

Biscuit is sooo sweet🐱My pup loves to smell my perfumes and body products with me! So cute how they love to do what we do💕I’m loving brown lips too, totally 90’s come back! Collecting the elf lip liners little by little. Have you tried the cherry cola lip🍒🥤, brown liner with clear cherry red gloss!? Kind of a so last year trend, but still loving that look too!!

Thanks, Emily! Love your content whether you're using new or older items. I wasn't sure if I would like a "glow filter," so I used the Catrice Sungasm highlighter all over after primer and before foundation. It was a really pretty result, and I think it was very similar to a liquid. A bonus was good staying power. ❤

Thanks for a great vid 🎉 I use my holiday hourglass palettes often! Have you considered doing the Lancôme mascara first and then add the tubing Elf one? Then it might tube over the volumized lashes…? It worked with the Thrive one 🤷🏻‍♀️

I started making a wish list out of stuff I want to try. When I run out of something I pick off the list that category. This way I am using what I have. It feels good to actually use up a product and didn’t waste my money. I also do my makeup much more often because I am not overwhelmed with how many products I have.
