I cut letters with silver card stock but it crushed the surface, help!

Hi what cut pressure and what speed did you use! I tried to cut a image of my prima doll stamp it scaned alright but it would not cut out it just cut tiny parts here and there on the stamp image. what did I do wrong could you help with it? Mary Katherine
