Hey Matthew. Thanks for the question. I got this idea from the fat bee man. Look up his channel. Emulsifying the oils is what helps to let the molecules mix with the sugar water. Also add a pinch of sea salt for extra mineral sugar water doesn't have. Honey B Healthy is a patented formula and there is more to it than just essential oils. I have been using it for the years I've been keeping bees and I am practicing more ways to make it work well. I like to use it on the bees versus smoke.

The amount of essential oils seems almost dangerous. 5 drops of lemongrass and 15 drops of two others--wow. That would scare me.
