It will depend on your trading strategy and if there are also other indicators, but generally the same settings can also be used on higher time frames.

Can I ask you a question: why you choose 100, 200 lengths for higher macd and not 50, 100. Any specific reason, and why 34, 144 for the lower macd settings. Thx in advance

50, 100 is more suitable for medium-term trend, and 100, 200 is more suitable for longer term trend. In this setup, short-term momentum change within long-term trend is focused.

@SoheilPKO as we are looking for 5-15mins trade, so shouldn't it be 50, 100 ideally for the shortest period of the trade. Reply from your side would be appreciated. Anyway i applied 50, 100 to the setup and that looked like a suicidal 😓

@ Medium-term or long-term is relative to each time frame. Even on 1 minute time frame, a moving average with length of 200 is used for long term trend. Please pay attention that this long term trend on 1 min is not long term trend for higher time frames, it's relative to 1 min. For a scalper, a long term trend, is probably a trend in play for a one day or few days, but for example for a swing trader, long term trend is in play for one or two months probably.

@@SoheilPKO When I do a back testing….on charts for NVDA, AAPL etc, this method misses out on too many opportunities where the trend was very clear, but this method would have kept you out of the market altogether. Am I missing something? The 34-144-9 MACD is a slow signal line compared to 100,200,50…so this method essentially is comparing a short term trend vs a long term trend right? Wouldn’t that be easier accomplished with 2 simple moving averages like say 20 and 50?

@@SoheilPKO use 6 59 30 for the histogram But change white line to : Fast 3 Slow 10 oscillator Type to sma Signal type to sma Signal smoothing 16 And this thing becomes a beast. Alot more trades. My extra rule is entry bar has to be right colour aswell. And more of a judgement call if the stop is too far away dont bother. I havent tested this yet
