Thank you! I'd never put a virtual background behind myself in an OBS video before, but today I really needed it because the other choices were just a solid screen or the various things in the studio behind me from someone else's music practice. :) I got as far as the part about the filter, figured out from there what I was doing, made the video, and then came back here to watch the rest while the video for my class was uploading.

So I add the background and save it. But where you say click the down arrow to move it behind me, it doesn't. It just goes back to me on camera with no background added. So I have two choices, me on camera, or the background. But I cant see how to merge the two together?

If you've applied the chroma key filter correctly for your green screen, the space behind you should be transparent, and show the background.

hi markus, john here again with new questions. ok , so i'm setting up my green screen and it is a portable round green screen that attaches to my chair or whatever else i can attach it to. 1st problem is that although i did crop my screen and did the best to match the color of my green screen, the bottom part of my shirt looks pixilated. Is that because i need light? i dont have any lighting right now but i'm going to invest in some. i may just buy a bigger green screen as well. this one was given to me. my second question or issue i'm having is that while using studio mode and virtual camera to show in zoom, when i try to put the background up and my video camera image in the corner of screen in small size like you do, many times, all i see is my background even when i have my video camera on the correct layer in sources.

Lighting could definitely be an issue. Even lighting is key for a great green screen effect. But you can also try adjusting the settings in the chroma key filter. The second issue I have not encountered.
