Great information as always, Doc. I will add that I got rid of acid reflux by fasting for 3 days. I was amazed how stomach and intestinal problems cleared up quickly in just 3 days. Definitely focus on your microbiome folks; not only does it go toward determining physical health, it can also affect your psychological health (serotonin production). Edit: In addition, be sure to take daily salt with your water, as Dr. Berg pointed out that drinking only water dilutes your system. I drink water, 1tsp salt, 1/2 lemon juice, 2tsp apple cider vinegar each day, fasting or not. [Edit 11/20/21: I recently got into Qi Gong and Tai Chi. I want to mention Qi Gong in particular. It is energy work, and amazing stuff. There is a technique called Sword Fingers you should learn. I am studying Spring Forest Qi Gong by Master Chunyi Lin.]

@@Pound4Poundtv_ yes, there will be some gas and discomfort as microbiome dieoffs and cell/lining regeneration occurs. It passes quickly enough.

What happens if the reflux or G.E.R.D. comes back after the 3-day fast once you've had a meal or 2?

@@love.1995 perhaps a longer fast is in order. I've done a 7 day fast also. However, my acid reflux has not returned since my 3 day fast. The idea in fasting is to allow for microbial die-off, that which is contributing to your condition(s) [which may include candida overgrowth]. Once you get your microbiome back to a healthy state, and continue with a healthy diet you should be fine. Also, ensure your mind is right. Our own thoughts have profound effect on our bodies (see. Dr. Joe Dispenza: The Placebo Effect and Dr. Bruce Lipton: The Biology Of Belief) so you must be vigilant in what you tell yourself is true.

Yes... also, removing H Pylori bacteria from your stomach/intestines completely eliminated my lifelong issues with heartburn/acid reflux.

Agree to all!! I have been through all that for 3-4 years, been on acid meds and changed diets but couldn't avoid antibiotics because of lupus I get sick a lot, last year I had a calling after so much praying to consume yogurt which I couldn't 3 years before last year. Yogurt helped smooth out but not enough. About 2 weeks now I have been consuming homemade fermented food my mom made and kimchi and other outside fermented foods and all praise to The Creator has listened to my wish to not get that bad aftermath taste from anything and be able to eat normally and finish meal and ease in stomach. No more acid reflux!!!

Thank you Dr. Berg ❤ I am one of the 79% My doctor prescribed me a probiotic after talking with him recently about problems with my digestion as a whole. I was diagnosed with a stomach ulcer 2 years ago. I was able to heal okay in 5 weeks. I have been trying to fully heal for over 2 years. I am always mindful of what I eat. This has also affected me mentally...anxiety and depression. I've sought chiropractic help...and yes it was helpful! Past traumas had me really messed up. At the last...the probiotic my doctor prescribed plus taking an elixir of extra calcium, magnesium and potassium....my insides are finally working well....and feeling well.

Hi...to those who asked about probiotic it is Acidophilus. I received it as a prescription from my doctor. I also drink kefir both dairy and water and since I love beets...Kvass. My elixir is a mineral drink mix. It has Vitamins C and D and magnesium, calcium and boron. Product name is Natural Vitality Calm. Hope this helps. Wish all wellness and good health 💙

Funny this popped up in my suggestion. Just started probiotics less than 2 weeks ago and definitely notice a huge difference in gas and bloating occurrences. I personally take probiotic pills rather than the food based options though.

I just wanna testify, after watching this video while having a heartburn and pain after taking my dinner, I ran to the nearest convenience store to buy Yakult because it is the only probiotic that is easy to get. I didn't look for for the yogurt because of Dr. Berg's explanation. I was doubt and hesitated drinking it because the taste is a bit sour and would trigger the reflux and worsening my GERD. But, I drank it, sip by sip. It took me 10-15 minutes to finish one bottle of Yakult to make sure it didn't bring negative effect on my stomach. Now, I'm writing it, laying in my bed, feeling a sense of relief. No more heartburn, no more pain. I can't wait to see the whole result if I'm taking it regularly for a month. Thank you, Dr. Berg. Don't be tired of giving helpful insight

@markusandrews39 @parthshady5981 @naribhabokshabong1522 Sorry all I didn't receive the notification until the last reply. I haven't gotten any acid reflux since then. I can now drink coffee latte (not espresso) and spicy foods BUT of course not too much. For instance, if today I drink coffee, that means no spicy foods today. It applies otherwise. If I eat spicy foods that means no coffee for today. I'd be eating non spicy and no coffee or tea for the next maximum 3 days. Then, on the 4th day I can choose whether I want to drink coffee or eat spicy food. I do this because I am aware of my condition and just an anticipation. And beside that, I do imagine that I am the healthiest person. I imagine and say the affirmation that "my stomach is getting beter and better day by day" using the José Silva technique. I have problems with my weight and I want to lose some and my Doctor said that I cannot do the reguler fasting nor intermitten fasting due to my condition. Believe it or not, with the help of probiotics combined doing the healing technique, I can do the intermittent fasting. I was really scared at first that I will suffer from the acid reflux, I even made sure I still had my Lansoprazole and Sucralfate on the counter just in case I'd get acid reflux. But Thank God I DID NOT have any acid reflux and I hope I will never ever suffer from it again. You can give it a try. Hope this helps

I was taking ranitidine for two years before it got pulled off market, then nexium for two years, but after hearing Dr Berg explain that the stomach should be very acidic ( which I actually knew , but didn’t completely understand), I stopped all medication for acid reflux, heartburn etc. it took about two weeks to push through, but have been 5 mos now with no medication and no ill effects. Thanks Dr.Berg. Also no foods that I thought were causing my problem were.

I’m suffering from all of this and it’s because I had the Roun y gastric bypass 20 years ago . So I have no big intestine and my stomach pouch is right beneath my breast bone . And because I’m suffering from GERD & Gastritis, it’s causing me to have anxiety and panic attacks . So I chalked it up to my stomach issues causing me to panic . It’s really scary and I wish I could just be back normal already .

So I suffered gird, or acid reflux to the point of gastritis, it damaged my stomach valve and all the dr did was give me a drug to take to stop acid production, said I would be on it the rest of my life! NOT, weaned off it. God Candida overgrowth, suffered leaking gut, had to drink bone broth a long time, had to learn about gut health after given 4 courses of antibiotics for upper respitory infections from H1N1, that led to Candida fungus overgrowth, horrific suffering treating this, the die off causes terrible itching for a very long time all because the doctors had no understanding about the consequences of antibiotics. I am very suspicious of most doctors now, all my health issues were caused by doctors. I slept fine until my OBGYN gave me a tubal ligation surgery, the radical one I did not want, thought I was getting tubes tied or melted together. He pressured me after the birth of my last child after I said I did not want to have it then, made it sound like no alternative, two incisions to wait. Totally screwed up my hormones, immediately quit sleeping unless I took birth control pills, had awful PMS, bad nerves. Ranting here, but hope this helps some people to not ever do this, never let a doctor pressure you, never take a med or get a surgery without researching yourself! Especially with hormones, they are powerful and I have been overdosed on progesterone 3 different times and once on estrogen which cause uterine fibroids, hence a uterine oblation had to be done and even that, they wanted me to have a hysterectomy! I had to research it myself to see other options. I swear, most doctors are medicine for profit alone!

Believe it or not. Sometimes when get heart burn and it goes away and then I think of the heart burn again, it comes back in that second. Now I know there is a link from the brain and the stomach

I was struggling with reflux or months after being put on omeprazol by my Dr. I starting taking ACV and stopped taking omeprazol. My reflux has completely gone and I can now drink coffee, beer and wine with no problem. Life is good again. Definitely recommend trying this if you suffer from reflux! 👍🏻

Ive had acid reflux since my 20s and also ulcer symptoms (tested negative for h. Pylori). I also had high carb/ poor diet and a lot of alcohol and coffee consumption. So draw your own conclusions… if you’re suffering from bad reflux or GERD of course diet change should be first on your list before taking any meds with potentially serious side effects.

Interesting...I’ve been taking 4x1500mg of oil of Oregano for a couple weeks and I know for sure, my acid reflux is 95% gone. Betaine HCL wasn’t working , but this did

@@funday4744 It was 4 a day, in the morning. It's funny, I haven't taken this for a long time. I remember suffering from burping all the time and now I've forgotten. I'd be burping a Oregano smell during this time. What a blessing. I hope this works for you. High stress and high carb eating was definitely a factor. Hope you figure out what works for you too.

Probiotics help but from actually seeing cases all the time 99% of the time acid reflux is simply caused by weak stomach acid caused by low salt. Salt which is NaCl contains the raw Materials to produce stomach acid (HCl). My nan had acid reflux and heartburn for years and used gaviscon, proton pump inhibitors which are terrrrible for you as they reduce your stomach acid so much. 1 night her acid reflux was so bad she couldn't even lie down so my brother who knows that acid reflux is low salt gave her salty water with around 1 teaspoon. almost IMMEDIATELY her acid reflux, heartburn, digestive issues, pain, all gone. She just needed salt

SALT WAS GIVEN A BAD REPUTATION ...... Just now finding out about the truth of SALT. Didn't know it helped Acid Reflux, but found out that more salt helps clear brain fog as well as low energy. Mom would shower her food with salt since childhood, would watch her dump salt on things and she's in great health never had any problems. Decided to try a teaspoon of pink Himalayan salt in 20 oz of water, and immediately the brain fog and low energy went away. This was only about two months ago.

I just started taking probiotics and eating low carb to lose weight. I was feeling great for 2 weeks and then one day felt a throbbing in my neck. Thats turned into body pains, dull ache in throat, swollen tonsils and earache. Went to urgent care and ER and now I have to go to an ENT. Doc mentioned gerd but I've had no symptoms of it in years. No clue what this could be.

Check if your probiotics contains dairy, you might be allergic to the dairy hence the issue.

I've suffered from gerd for years.All my doctor has offered is ppi's. I've tried all kinds of remedies with no luck. I'm currently starting something called Seed. It cost a lot more that my precipitation but if it gets me off of ppi's, I'm all in.

I've never heard of taking iodine. After years of dealing with this problem I'm open to suggestions. Would you have a link with the information. I still plan to use my probiotics and see what happens but it might be a good backup plan.

@@leesg3 i used lugol's solution iodine and added two drops to my water bottle or more and i drink it everyday.. thats problem with modern diet it lacks iodine and mostly acid reflux is due iodine deficiency

I'm being treated for GERD, which I've never believed to be correct, because I hardly ever got/get reflux or even heartburn. However, a few years ago, I fell and did something to my coccyx, which still hurts today. It's a bearable pain, but I wonder if I may have some damaged nerves down there? Because that could explain a definite lack of peristalsis in my lower intestine, resulting in a lot of burping before and after meals. The burping has led my doctor to the most simple GERD diagnosis, but I'm not convinced. I'm wondering if becoming 'backed up' is the primary cause of my belching? For the record, I've been keto for almost 2 years and I fast 19:5 every day. It has helped tremendously, but the issue hasn't gone completely. I also take two tablespoons of Greek yoghurt after each of my two meals. I tried sauerkraut, but this caused some kind of nasty reaction and a recurrence of my symptoms. Ultimately, I've lost 103 pounds on keto, so that is bound to help.

I wonder if you have enough B vitamins because they also help with digestion. According to Dr Berg’s videos if you’ve got gas (burping or the other) it’s probably your small intestines. It might help to look up Dr Berg’s videos on the small intestines.

Congratulations on the weightless!! That’s a fantastic result. I’ve found that constipation and GERD go hand in hand. Since having flax seed I no longer get backed up and don’t have GERD symptoms caused by that. It’s believed the CRPS is also affecting the digestive tract. So that’s a double whammy! I’m going to try some probiotics via yoghurt.

I've also been trying to not eat right before bed but being a truck driver I tend to eat at the end of the work day. At home I tend to drink alcohol so I end up eating before sleeping... yep personnel discipline and I need to eat breakfast ; )

I was taking ppis (Omeprazole) for over 10 years. About a month ago I began drinking whole milk kefir, one cup a day. I stopped Omeprazole, gone two weeks now without it.. A few times heartburn reared it's ugly head but subsided and disappeared. Will see how it goes in the months ahead drinking my kefir. If it cures my gerd it will really be something. I'll begin making my own kefir soon.

@@augustomlucena I'm still drinking kefir and can tell its definitely working though twice I got heartburn in the last week or two. Once after drinking some red wine (had to use Omeprazole). The second time after bending over gardening which was today! After I quit gardening, within an hour the heartburn disappeared without drinking a second cup of kefir but just in case I am going to drink some more in a bit. In a week I'm going for a weekend reunion where there's all kinds of food. I've been eating keto for a year and a half, before kefir so high carb meals and desserts will be a good test for heartburn.

Laryngeal spasm is so terrifying! Stomach acid comes up your food tube and hits your vocal chords sending them into spasm. Very difficult to get air in or our of your lungs.

A good amount of cases of GERD, ulcers, stomach cancer etc are caused by h. pylori too. Wouldn't hurt to have a doctor do a simple bag test. Not sure if probiotics could really take it out, but it's a simple triple round of antibiotics and then you're cured. Another benefit is if you have some of the GERD symptoms and stinky breath, that might wipe that out too!

I'm using nicotine gum right now to quit cigs, and it gives me the worst heartburn I've ever felt, every time I chew a piece. I wonder if probiotics would help with that? I haven't smoked a cig in 4 days tho so it is worth the temporary discomfort either way.

You might have an issue with fodmaps. Try low foodmap vegetables.

Eat variety of food The thing is I have acid reflux I was following vegan diet without junk and oil food It got me very good results but later I had some junk acid reflux came back but when I was eating probiotics it helped me a lot so u can go totally plant based with few diary products for vitamin b12
