You put forward explanation about phrasal verbs explicitly. Explicit description of 10 phrasal verbs. Thanks sir.

This lesson is excellent because not only does it help with IELTS, but it can also improve our general writing and speaking skills. Among all these phrasal verbs, I liked "phase in" much more.

@veenanarwani7613 жыл бұрын
You reminded me of the phrasal verb "look up to you" . Meaning admire you? Also reminded me of the phrase second to none. Meaning " not less effective than others" or the best? Thanks.
@LeonardoSanchez233 жыл бұрын
@@veenanarwani761 yes. Look up to means admire. On the other hand, second to none means "as good as or better than all others". Regards

Hello! Could I ask you a question? There is a sentence: Max is thinking about starting a business. I am confusing about the analysis of this sentence. Are “thinking about” as a phrasal verb and “starting a business”(gerund phrases) as the object of this phrasal verb, or are “think” as a verb and “about starting a business”(prepositional phrases) as the adverbial phrase to modify the verb “think”? And can a prepositional phrase work as a direct object of verbs, subject, or else nominal? Thank you very much!

Thanks Adam for awesome videos. I have some issues in the first example for "map out" as you mentioned in your video and I wonder if you can help me understand it. The question is about the phrase "only to + [verb]" although I'm not even sure if it is a phrase or not. Recently I also come across this phrase in a book that it read: "We think we could just call on these parts to get together when we need them to, but we arrive at the battleground only to discover that it's never as easy as we thought it would be." Again it used "only to + [verb]" phrase in the above sentence. Actually I find this phrase interesting and I wanted to use it in my essays, but I am not 100 percent sure how I should use it. Thanks for your help in advanced!
