That's been my conditions at my lake the past 3 weekends. Tube's and drop shot next to cover near drop offs to deep water. Or slow hopping a finesse football in ditches or the end of points. That's all l could get a bite on.

A staple of my fishing buddies is a 5" yamamoto twin tail hula grub on a 1/4 oz stand-up jig head. It has a slow enough fall to let the fish see it. The bait doesn't quit moving even at rest.

Calm sunny and 100 is the norm at my local lake in July/Aug so I clicked on this immediately. haha. Even with a box of high end baits the Zoom Mag II ribbon tail in Green Pumpkin is the #1 confidence bait in these zero cloud ultra UV, low wind, 100 deg conditions.

For small mouth bass suspending off bottom, can you drop shot and bring up rig so you are abit above them. Does the weight spook them. Does any one know. Thanks from northern ontario

I'm a topwater junkie. I cast to the shady side of cover. Let it sit, twitch a couple times, If no strike, work it back to the boat. Often get a strike a few feet away from cover. They don't want it to get away.

Hey Matt! I had watched that rigging clip and I was taking the hook clear through, but after a few casts the worm was coming loose and wanted to slide up the line a little. I may need to practice a little more....

Make sure the hook point is buried/skin hooked to keep the worm from sliding

Seems soft plastics are more effective in sunny, flat days..especially in summer....a tube works well as well in cover areas...Tubes aren't seen by bass as much anymore it seems

Completely agree man... You definitely named off some of my favorites for those conditions. I'd throw in a jighead minnow, swimbait, and dropshot but thats just what I like on the lakes I fish on mostly. Luckily these days we have livescope so it makes these conditions much easier to deal with. Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!

Not the hardest. Hardest would be a fast river like white waters. I'm killing the trout with lures. Second hardest? Frigid cold, windy night fishing with tsunami waves in the high rocks. Nothing works and it is absolutely miserable.
