Absolutely some of the best pads I have ever heard. I could listen for days, now if I can just learn to make some that sound that good. Thank you for these.

Another good pad video. You said in previous vids that you favourite was the wavestation, but you seem to use the triton more! Wonder if you have the jv1080 cloud to do a pad video on that?
@Thought-Forms Жыл бұрын
I've been using the Triton a LOT more the past year, and do prefer it over the Wavestation now. Both are great, the Wavestation definitely a bit more situational with a very unique sound. I have the XV-5080 VST from the Roland Cloud, big fan of the JV series as well - but the Roland Cloud is a nightmare, ton of DSP spikes whenever I use their stuff :( Could do a video on the 5080 at some point for sure!

Interesting, though would have appreciated some discussion of the types of chords/voicings that work best.
@Thought-Forms Жыл бұрын
Appreciate the comment, and noted on chord types topic. To address over comments: really any chord type is good pending what style you're producing in. For ambient, I really like minor 7, minor 9, minor 11 chords with standard voicing - but will occasionally play around with shifting the root and/or 7/9/11th notes up or down an octave. The 7/9/11th pitched up an octave works well with arps IMO

It's always a pleasure to see a new video from this channel! I'm gonna try it this weekend :) Hey, I'm looking for a new DAW since I don't like FL Studio for producing Jungle/Intelligent D&B... I cannot decide between Ableton or Bitwig... Would you say Bitwig is better for this genre in particular? Thanks!!
@Thought-Forms Жыл бұрын
thanks, maroxcore! I LOVE Bitwig, that said, I'd argue Ableton has a leg up when it comes to chopping breaks (which is a big piece of jungle) Outside of that I think Bitwig excels in every other way possible. Ableton is going to have more KZbin content as its been around longer and is just more popular - but IMO, it's pretty easy to translate concepts to your DAW of choice. Do a demo of both & see which jives with you better :)

I always fear of videos that might potentially have post processing on plugins like analog saturators and tube preamps and so on, because when i started getting synths they werent sounding like on promo videos etc... Is this only digital render?

I find it funny that some people still don't know about arpeggiateors. They've been around since the 70s at least.

korg triton is the vst, fl has an arpeggiator as well.

@@nostalgia_junkie Ahh I see
@Thought-Forms Жыл бұрын
Yup! The device in the video is Bitwig's stock "arpeggiator" VST. FL Studio should have a stock arpeggiator device, if not - most soft synth VSTs will have an arpeggiator built in you could use
@jamesjr2550 Жыл бұрын

Hey Jared - Deep Sleep is a stock patch in the Korg Triton VST, as long as you have the VST you will have access to it

@@jarednight3648 Make sure you're in PROG mode (not COMBI) -> then click BROWSE -> search for "deep" and it should pop up. It's in the "Dance Extreme" EXB-PCM which is included with the Triton VST, categorized as a "Slow Synth" program

I think you're leaving out an important point here; you're using an arpeggio with random notes. Otherwise it will sound pretty square.

bro. what about the poor people with FL Studio?
@Thought-Forms11 ай бұрын
Does FL not have a stock arpeggiator plugin? I need to revisit, havent played around in FL Studio in YEARS. If not, most synths will have an arp built in - could achieve within that (Korg Triton for example has a solid arp)
@baeplum11 ай бұрын
@@Thought-Forms But Korg is very expensive. I have Serum. Should that work ?
