Izotope Nectar 3's de-esser is setup the same way and gives similar results. Very smooth and natural sounding. Great advice on clip gain.

Thanks Matt :) You hit the nail on the head with generally being dissatisfied with De-essers. I have the Fabfilter one, as well as Waves, and Slate digital (Eosis), and frankly, I've never been able to make one work where I was really happy. The manual clip gain thing is where I often land, unfortunately, because it is certainly time consuming. I have never tried using the Fabfilter MB for this task, but now I will give that a whirl. Thank you for the pointer :)

@@FrancisFarmerMusic I'll check it out! I use some of the Slate tools - Trigger, FGX, VTM, etc. I like the extra band of the FG73 and I thought it sounded good when I used it.

Hi Matt, love your channel. I have a quick question. Being a UAD master, I'm hoping you can tell me if there is *any* conceivable way to store UAD plugins' "live mode" setting when saving a project in a DAW. As far as I can tell it cannot be done, and this is a huge PITA for my zero-latency live projects. Any suggestions?
