Wouldn't it be better to create a personalized field for the year f.ex, using something like Hello Custom, instead of creating tons of listings for basically the same design?? I'm a complete newbie, trying to figure out the most efficient way to do all of this with current tools, so my apologies if this is a silly question... It's not a silly question. When I made this video Hello Custom didn't exist. And the goal with this method is more to fill out amazon merch upload slots, where personalized designs are not possible. On Etsy it's a different story and selling personalized items would indeed make more sense. I use MyDesigns for that, but Hello Customs works too

Thanks for the video!! One question: Many of these videos don't take place in a certain niche. For example "I like cats and racing". Do these shirts still have the chance to get bought even if no one is typing in this keyword on amazon?

yes there is still a chance of them selling even if nobody would type the exact phrase in. But if you show up next to generic cat designs and the person buying also likes racing, well then you have got an advantage

Any idea how to get automate pod to centre the variable text when it creates the variations? It's OK for dates but doesn't work for text of variable lengths.

while the text is selected you should have the option at the top (under account) to allign text to center. And if you have text of variable length you need to seperate it into different excel files. There is no way to have the tool scale down the text so it doesn't bleed off the canvas unfortunately

Hi really great video thanks. I'm in the UK and use a UK POD company. But I was thinking of using an US one for the likes of etsy as the US market is bigger. Also do you have different products on different platforms so they don't compete against each item?

No I upload everything to all platforms, not everyone who shops on Etsy for examples also checks amazon. So just having it on both and creating more coverage is better in my opinion

Hello Phil, I am an absolute beginner and wondered where you got your designs from before then going to AutomatePOD? Also can this tool be used for other merch like MUgs, Totes ect? I have a store that i am but need to understand how to automate as currently manual process at the moment.

I designed these in illustrator beforehand. you can use the designs for other products as well yes. I now use Adobe Illustrator to create scalable designs in bulk, it's a bit more efficient. (in case you have access to that) Have a few tutorials on the channel

I have since found that I prefer illustrator. It's more flexible and easier to work with once you have figured out how to do it. Have a few tutorials about scalable designs with illustrator on the channel and a new one coming tomorrow
