Hey George :) Another awesome video! I would say I have kind of fallen into always leaving my blacks at about 45 IRE, but maybe for more commercial looks I'll experiment with 30, as I could see the benefit. Have yo noticed when applying the Kodak Vision 3 profile, that the default setting is quite green and seems off unless it is tweaked? The reason I tend to avoid that profile, despite how beautiful it looks, is that I always find myself having to color correct it but I'm never sure here to leave white, as I would not want to remove shifts inherent in the profile itself by cleaning it up too much, if that makes sense? Can't wait for your next video :)

So I actually do my dehancer kind of funny, maybe I'll make a video on it myself but I often separate the film and print stocks as parallel nodes and adjust the output total impact to taste. I find the profiles themselves on full blast give me unsavory results on some of the media I work with. This also means I add an additional dehancer node after these with the grain and halation effects, without their impact being adjusted. Lately, I've been going for the Kodak Gold 200, slightly pulled, complimented with 2383 of course.

Perhaps I'm mistaken and also being slightly pedantic but I'm almost certain the 10 bit scale isn't referencing IRE levels. The closest thing to IRE in Resolve is viewing the waveform as a percentage. Haha I don't mean to come off as a sore thumb, really great stuff you're sharing! Thank you 👏
