I don't even know what to say guys. This is the best video you guys have done in a long time! Almost like a bardwell video but with more people involved, and you guys did an amazing job explaining for those who want to know a little more about photography. I've been watching and been in the hobby since about 2016, and I'm telling you this was a great video!

So far the easiest to understand video that I’ve seen that truly explains the purpose of ND filters, actually shows how they work and real results, and when you’d want to use them. I know I’m only one person, but you earned my sub today! Great video and thank you.

wow own a gopro for past 1year and i felt i wasted my money but after watching this video i came to know that we have to manually alter the settings for every scenario. That ND filter tutorial is very good I immediately ordered from telesin that way i can install over the camera cover or whatever you call it without removing the cover. Thank you sir

Timing couldn't have been better. I just got my ND filters for my session today and I have some for the 03 on the way. Been flying for 3 years and I do have one nd16, but it's rare that we have a day of whether that's appropriate, and the couple of times I used it, my image will still a bit blown out. Also, now I have to figure out some way to get into pro-tune so that I can start adjusting my camera manually. I believe there's a couple of third-party Bluetooth apps.. Looking forward to the vid! 💪🏻🔥

why on nd16, you tripled your shutter speed? i tot youd only have to double the frame rate (30*2)? This confused me so does that mean the shutter speed still depends?

Very informative. It puzzles me that EVERYBODY talks about, the necessity of ND filters and the 180 shutter-rule. Can’t you get as good as a motion blur in post (like Davinci Studio)? One would be more flexible and wouldn’t have the hassle with the NDs all the time. Hardly anybody talks about the negatives/restrictions of using an ND filter like, color-casting, vignetting, having to use a higher ISO sometimes, not being able to use polarizers with a variable ND filter which is usually less of a quality anyway, bad stabilizing results, etc. If the motion blur is only done in post, without NDs, how good and easy is the result of a proper motion blur and quality?

Should you always shoot at 100 ISO? I was tring to set my GoPro 12, and after watching some videos about it they usually said the best ISO would be Min 100 and Max 400 or 800, but 400 would be better. I am just curious tho xD, I want to set my GoPro the best way possible to not miss any shot :)
@flowmediaco Жыл бұрын
I'm a little late here! But typically, ISO 100 is the best for shooting video in bright daylight. However I do always say change whatever you need to get the shot you want! So if ISO 800 or up gets you the shot you want, get it done! Hope this helps bro 🤘🏽

i have tried using a VND on my GoPro and found that if I set my settings to whatever I want (30 fps & 1/60 SS) the GoPro's image stabilisation kicks in and screws up the video. The video turns out to be all jittery and not at all useable. This video might be applicable only if you put the GoPro on a fpv drone but handheld, it will be unusable.

Everyone is constantly propagating the 180 degree rule without understanding that it only applies when you are playing back that footage at 24fps. If you are recording at 100fps and plan to play back at 100fps (likewise 60 and 60) then you would use 1/50 of a second as the 180 rule doesn't apply. Most camera's can't set a shutter lower then the frame rate so you would end up using a 360degree shutter when passing 50fps..
@MactacFPV Жыл бұрын
I think you have it backwards. If you are running 100fps (which I've never seen before :) ), you would run at 1/200 shutter, not 1/50. 180 rule (well, it's not a rule, just a starting point) can be used at any fps, you just use a shutter speed of 1/(2*fps) . Using a shutter speed that is slower than the frame rate (the example you gave is 1/50 for 100fps) would quite literally be impossible because the shutter would be open longer than the frame is gathering light.
@19Jose91 Жыл бұрын
@@MactacFPV and why keep people using 30fps? if we can use 60fps with 1/120 SS and 120fps with 1/240 SS? I feel that 30fps is stuttering
@MactacFPV Жыл бұрын
@@19Jose91 People use 30fps either to save space, or to use a mode on the gopro that doesn't support 60fps, or they like the look of it (think about the frame rate of movies!). Often 30fps stutters because the person who made the video is speed ramping it - there aren't enough frames to make it look smooth since interpolation isn't the greatest. 30fps without any hijinx on the speed should look smooth (again, look at movies in 24fps).
@19Jose91 Жыл бұрын
I don't get why people film in 30fps and 1/60 shutter speed, being able to film in 60fps and 1/120 shutter speed. I can really feel the difference between a 30fps and a 60fps video, 60fps always looks so much natural
