Turn on grid, but please turn off level. Level your shot by how you want (else you'll be so busy making sure the level line stays yellow, lit up, you'll be missing out on the great shots)

i am kind of in a weird spot. i was shooting heavy dslrs years back before i stopped and wanted to get back into but my behaviour changed aswell and carrying around heavy cameras isnt all that appealing anymore. right now i m using an old iphone 5s as a tiny point and shoot for when i m around and its a lot of fun and creates nice photos too. my initial plan was to get some mirrorless fuji or something but now i m actually considering just getting a new iphone. the thing is: 1. you can take great photos with every camera. you can take contest winning stuff with the worst cameras you can think of. 2. the best camera is the one you have with you is so true. i wont carry around a dedicated camera when i m on my way to work or when i do groceries or whatnot but you re missing so many opportunity shots there. 3. i rationalize and realize: why do i want to take photos now? because i enjoy it and it should be a hobby. by no means do i plan to make this a job or go ''professional'' ... do i really ''NEED'' a ''professional'' camera for a hobby? well... if i am truthful, the answer is probably no. overall it might just be the best call to just get a new iphone instead

I’d say iPhone for sure! You get to upgrade your phone and technically your camera as well with one purchase and device.

Great video as usual Zack. I really like your style of presentation. I don't comment often but you do a great job and please keep up the great work.

Thanks, for lens tip and contrast with tap the "Sun". Did not even know that was there. I found myself always adding Contrast about 10-15, and sometimes increasing Black Point 10 using the Apple edit on 15Pro. Thanks again!

HEIC or Most Compatible Zac?

I've lost count of how many times my level was 'spot-on', in on screen, but the photos were a couple of degrees out - and that's using a tripod too.

Not bad tips for the latest iPhone Pro models, though I will admit that beyond 5x zoom on a Pro Max, I've found 8x and to some extent, 10x can still produce fairly sharp shots. It's not DSLR sharp by any means but for a smartphone it's not the worst thing in the world.

Love your videos. Im writing a book about iphone photography. May I have your permission to use hyperlinks that will bring my readers to your videos? May I also use some of your content?

When editing in Lightroom, should I edit in HDR mode or not?
@CH_eatthesand4 ай бұрын
Really that's up to you. All HDR mode is doing is highlighting the highlights for you by increasing the brightness of the OLED screen in those sections only. Frankly it has its uses but only if you're dealing with a somewhat contrasty scene.

Man you are so underrated. Can you make a video about how to shoot(on a smartphone) online classes on white boards and the process of editing them ? I am planning to start a channel for statistical and Machine Learning method. Thanks for your amazing shorts and long form videos too.

I really appreciate that man! I think that video idea might be a little too niche and so I might have to unfortunately say no... However, it's pretty simple as long as you have a tripod and a lav mic setup, you should be good to go and just cut where you need to while editing.

what's the storage of your iphone 15 pro max?

Something no reviewer EVER talks about is the deception of the other lenses. They have much smaller sensors so the image quality is not going to be nearly as good or as bright as the main camera. iPhone is better off sticking to one camera with a larger sensor and using digital crops for “zooming”.

They should just completely eliminate the 0,5X and give us two telephoto lenses 3x and 5x.
