I drive a 2012 and I don’t think I have this option. The “charge load” button literally doesn’t exist on my screen. Is that something that only shows up immediately after putting the car in park?

Not sure what you mean by charge load but a lot of updates were added to 2013 and up including larger battery pack

No you can program it to 12 amp default by going into local charging in the menu and activate very simple

Just FYI, This is true for ANY battery; the faster the charge rate, the faster the deterioration of the battery. Faster charge=shorter life.

Yup true but 120v is considered trickle charging so the 12amp option is fine. Thanks for the comment

At least in Gen II Volts (2016 - 2019) if you are mostly charging at home, you can set that LOCATION to always charge at the 12 A rate... if you always need to use the high rate for you driving needs.

Good to know. How do you like your Gen 2 Volt? Is the eMPG accurate at 50 miles or less?
@TomOrman3 жыл бұрын
@@builtbypi2276 I love the Gen II Volt... Have been cross country several times, never having to stop for a charge. I am in Yuma, AZ now, and with very little changes in altitude on a daily drive, I get around 70 miles on a charge with in town driving. And getting an eMPG rating of usually 150 MPG

@@TomOrman Ended up selling mine the charging wasnt practical anymore and mpg dropped to 25mpg. Hows your mpg in gas only mode?

@@builtbypi2276 I'm not too sure what mileage I get in gas only mode... I rarely drive it that way. I've had a quarter of a tank of gas for over a year, and it's just been starting up about once a month to keep the engine lubricated and just recently more often, to use up the old gas, when ever I go out for a ride.
