As someone who sells used suit jackets, It would be impossible for me as an individual seller to get the hundreds of suits I have dry cleaned properly, it would cost a small fortune. I have always sold my suits as is, and list if anything on it looks stained. If someone feels the need to dry clean the suit before wear, which I reccomend as I dont know its history, they can do it, but for me, its just not economically feasable to do so with all of my suits.

Goodwill stores don't clean anything you can see items with food and other debris on them. They not putting up signs declaring items properly cleaned now are they?? Yard sales and other places like peddlers mall don't either. eBay is just covering their own butts. You get a ton of add more item specific notice, like what's the character for a pair of shorts. Come on just more work for a $4 item that takes an hour to photograph then list everything under the sun time it's all done you're working for NOTHING because time sourcing, washing at the laundry mat, photograph, listing and waiting for something to sell, sending offers. You're spent hours on a $4 item they will add fees to, make you wait to get paid and then hopefully a fickled buyer doesn't use your item on vacation then decide to return it once they used and abused it and now wants a refund. eBay is a losing game.

I’ve never had a statement concerning cleaning. I used to wash everything but stopped when our area became drought ridden about 12 years ago. If an item has a stain or weird smell, it gets cleaned, but otherwise, the item gets steamed only. I don’t buy items that are nasty either and they are usually clean when I get them(folks in small towns generally bring clean items to the thrift store because everyone knows everyone and they don’t want the gossip headache).

I called EB for help bc it kept doing it & wouldn't let me list this item that had already been listed previously. I also already had "cleaned per EB standards" in the listing so that wasn't the issue. They put in a help ticket to IT to look into it & said they'd let me know when it was resolved. To this day still no response to the error. Yesterday I decided to try it again got same error, so I did process of elimination starting by removing the brand to see if that was why & then removing the word "pants" just leaving as capri it then let me list them. So this new flagging system they have definitely is glitchy on picking up words they think are panties. 🤦♀
