Today I attended an auction sale for abandoned goods and I have to tell you I never thought that I would come across a score like this. The storage units was filled with old computer parts or so they thought. I bought the entire lot for $700. I did this because they didn't know what they had. They had mining rigs complete with cards in each rig. All of them 20 and 30 series cards. Not even 24 hours later and I've already tripled my money selling Off a couple of the cards. It's amazing that with so much emphasis on knowing things so many people don't know things. Mo money for me

Very true. In the UK it doesn't help that there's pretty much no such thing as used tech in 2nd hand shops, because of PAT testing rules (shops don't want to deal with them), so nothing like Goodwill here. I miss the late 80s and early 90s when used tech was easy to find in such stores. What's it like elsewhere in Europe? Can or do 2nd hand shops sell tech?

Just built a decent PC for under $100 (sorta) this week. Found a case with a motherboard and i5 6500 for $10 at a thrift shop, 16gb 3200mhz DDR4 for $20, GTX 970 for $40, power supply for $20 at Goodwill (also found $20 on the sidewalk right after, so free?), 1TB HHD for free (got two from gifted PC for another build), and 120GB SSD for $10 during Black Friday. Total spent was $100, but since the power supply was basically free (I wouldn't have found the $20 if I wasn't there anyway, right?), I could technically add like a single RGB to the case and still call it an under $100 😂

Definitely solid deals you got. And everybody knows the refubs you sell actually work and run. So your $50 markup is a bargain for whoever buys them. That RX6600 you got is a steal. Got mine used over the summer for $170US and that was a deal at the time. I have zero regrets and no problem with the prices dropping. Below 100US is a super deal and the card is no slouch. Playing GTA 5 with it today, high settings 1080P and easily exceeding the 144hz freesync rate on my monitor. Not the hardest game to run but it is what I wanted to play. The 6600 stayed cool doing that and even had low power use. The performance for dollar to buy the card and the cost to run it is just amazing.

I just picked up a 3070ti for $400. Guy had all boxes and paperwork and receipt. Bought less then 5 months prior. He upgraded to a 4090 with i9 13th gen water cooled. The 3070ti can tell was immaculate and well taken care of. I been using for a week now and runs beautifully since I did a clean install drivers, merry Christmas to me!

When you said about getting a car for deal hunting, I assumed you meant a beater / rust bucket. 😂 That seems like a decent car. My nephew picked up a B450 MSI board, 5800X, 32GB of 3600 Corsair Vengeance Ram, and a XFX 5700XT for like $350 or $400 several months ago. That's a deal. It was mining, but the guy ran undervolted/underclocked cards, and they were well maintained.

in lithuania we got an online tech marketplace where you can list your tech for sale. it also has all the filters like gb, speed, socket, dim type and so on. also it ships it from your house to the buyers house in a day or two. also they offer 5$ for free for first sale. and 10$ if you invite a friend and then if he does a sale. the prices are so good there.

I got my 1660 super "exact model" 2 months ago for $100 bucks here n the USA. . it was spit shined. One of the cleanest gpus I'd ever seen. it remind me of what are your videos where you're explaining how minors pressure wash these things. Made me a little skeptical at first but the overall the car did look fairly decent and without the ability to try it on the spot, I took it home tested it and voila, It's still here 2 months later doing just fine.

here in india 3070 are sold roughly around $660 US dollars and I just booked a used one which was 4 months old for $360. this is asus tuf model which I specifically wanted so I payed a lil extra. cards which are 1-2 years old are easily selling for 330 some dollars. man what a time for GPU buyers. TBH this made me felt so good I highly doubt I'll ever buy a new one in future as their is always going to be someone selling almost unused cards for cheaper rate.

In China, an usd rx588 is about $15 usd if you order 1000 piece at one time, 1660 super is around $40. Approx 10% are issued, but still a great deal.

This is not the case in germany. 1660super and 1660Ti go for around 140 to 180 Euro on Ebay on a daily basis. Probably because with our high prices for electricity there were few home miners in the past, so there are fewer people feeling the need to sell former mining cards.

I wouldn't bother with anything so old. A friend of mine had an old build centered around x79. Certain ports on his motherboard started to corrode and fail by 2019. He had to replace it a few years ago with a Ryzen 5800x build, which is excellent for productivity and gaming. Also for reference, I built my first gaming PC in 2010 on the AMD phenom platform, which was replaced by first gen Ryzen in 201 due to being too old and slow, upgraded to second gen Ryzen after reading cpus with a friend and now a 5800x3D which is stupidly fast for everything I throw at it. CPU performance has increased considerably ever since AMD struck back with Ryzen. six core CPUs are the bare minimum now. Anything from Intel's alder lake or raptor lake will crush anything you can slap on the x79 platform. The Rx 580 is alright for gaming, depending on what you play. It's fine for eSports titles and cranking up games of yesteryear. Personally, I would go for a core i5 12400f build with a good B660 motherboard. As for a GPU, an Rx 6600 is the best bang for your buck at the moment. Keep in mind how long you'll be using your PC for. I built mine with the intention of lasting until 2025. With all of that said, what's your budget, what kind of editing software will you be using and what kind of games will you be playing?
