Did you ever solve it? I have a high idle problem at coldcstarts. 3000 rpms and stays there awhile. Once it drives, it's normal and turns on and off normal until engine is cold.

Sounds like your idle air control sensor. Plus you want to make sure your throttle body is not sticking or gummed up. And yes as far as fixing it I put the original ECM back in and sold it for my new ZR2. Found out a couple years later with the real problem is with those 4.3s it's in the crappy distributor you need to buy a good high-performance distributor you'll never have those problems again.

In regards to multiple random misfire found out it is the OEM distributor you either have to shim it or replace it with a high performance distributor. Wish I would have known this years ago lol.

If anyone has the knowledge about these PCMS I would love to hear it I have been told that 2002 was a transition year it may have to be flashed no matter what??

Ok you should try putting a new Idle air control on the engine, If that goes bad you’ll have a high idle problem so just try it

Also I installed a new mass airflow sensor about 6 months ago just for the heck of it and I just got a code for that yesterday 🤔 they just don't make stuff like OEM parts!! I should have kept my old one 🤪
