The engine and trans are almost bulletproof. The shut off could be 1 of the coil packs failing. Mine was the same color, I had a light switch screwed into the dash for the coolant fan switch.

My father had a 1995 Cutlass Ciera that he bought used. It was a decent car. I remember putting an alternator and two rear door lock actuators in it.

Wish I knew how to do all of that. I had a perfectly running 09 Mustang GT that I let sit for a 3 years on a farm. I pulled like 100 mouse nests out but have only had to fix 4-5 chewed wires thus far. It even ran. Actually, it was pretty sad because my son came to take a look at it while I was cleaning it and I had just shut the trunk as he walked up but then a minute later he jumps back pointing: there was a mouse head sticking out of the trunk, like in the gap. Somehow a mouse was trying to leave at the exact same moment I closed it and it broke her neck and when I opened it up the damn thing had a few babies still suckling. I collected a bunch of nests and made them in nice cozy warm spot for them in the weeds, still attached to their mother. They were too young to keep as pets. Anyway, I have a question for you. I have been told so many different things. The fuel tank was about 90% full of premium gas, gas that has up to 10% ethanol. I only ran it for a min to move it it 200 feet and it did seem to be running rough but that could be any number of things. Would you try and drain the tank or just not worry about it and add new fuel when there is room? Some say that it will destroy the car and others say that it's not a big deal for modern fuel infected cars or that it can be a problem but not if your tank was full. A Meineke youtuber told me not to worry about it so that's the only reason why I dared to start/drive it to move it back into the driveway.

Check your fuel filter for sure. That's the first thing to go bad when a car sits for a long time that is easiest thing to check out

Fuel filter or ignition coil maybe causing the stall?

@@Cedarlan replaced both. Everything points to the oil psi cutoff I will know for sure once the new pump is wired since it will bypass the system

@@SlowPythonV1 you are probably right, sounds like you have been pretty deep into the engine. If you have the means it's good to inspect any stretching on the timing chain and also run a compression test. It's good you are keeping this one alive. I think car companies today want these cars crushed because they can always be repaired, as long as they aren't rusted too bad. When rebuilding an old car costs less than half of buying new, it's pretty obvious

@@Cedarlan not too concerned about compression or timing chain issues. This was an old grandmas car for it's whole life and I trust it was well kept.

This is OBD1 and one of the first few years models to have efi so half the system is designed to run closed loop and so many sensors are off or broken that even when I went code chasing the issues persisted. I know it's the oil psi switch because the oil is old and thin and likely gets worse when hot which is when it stalls. Really wish people would stop being mechanics for cars they aren't right in front of ...

@@mikem5475 never asked for help. Just posting an update on my project for anyone that cares, you getting offended that I dont want the help is no better. Maybe people are just used to forums and places like reddit where everything posted basically a question but we're on KZbin last I checked. Idk it just doesn't make sense to add input on something with such little context as I put in my 6 min video that's all.
