The brothers Deleo are the most amazing tandem ever. The lush arrangements are stunning. I will make sure my progeny generations from now have the opportunity to experience their profound outpouring of human emotions. Timeless is the right adjective. Thank you Dean & Robert. You help smooth the rough edges off these tumultuous times

YES, and these 4 guys as a band.. are absolutely kickass, great musicians. I can't believe they haven't put out another album since. Richard Patrick is one of the greatest singers on the planet, as is Ray Luzier equally, a drummer.

"I once sat at your table" is another good one. I have to sit down to listen to this stuff.

i got his guitar pick in a concert in 2010, yes i still have it. It contained zero rockin mojo, i still sucked.

I absolutely love this song. I bumped into it by accident once and was never able to find it again until now!

Close. The Tuning, which Dean posted on the AoA forum is, low to high, DGCGCD. It's a Gsus4 modal and can also be referred to as a Csus2. This is also the tuning used on the studio version of Led Zeppelin's "Rain Song," which Dean would play as part of a medley with "Used To Know Her" during the AoA tour. I saw the first show in Philadelphia and it was one of the best concerts I have ever been to! It's lucky that you got to go to a video shoot.

I was lucky enough to download this song for free from the AoA website when it was posted for a limited time. I've got it backed up in 4 different places...just in case.

This is why I say that Dean DeLeo is really this generations Jimmy Page writing songs like this using tunings like Page did. Retro but so fresh.

I think you're underestimating his brother Robert in this equation, but thats just my ears opinion.

@runthemachine That's exactly where it was!! That first night of the tour! What a great show that was, I only wish someone filmed the whole thing. That is a bootleg I would have happily purchased. I cannot believe only "Vasoline" exists from that show. The setlist that night was unreal, with both "A Better Place" and "Ain't Enough" being played. Neither of which have live versions on here.

Wow... REALLY reminds me of Beck's Nobody's Fault But My Own. @ JrAce... I'm in the Philly area ~ still own a house about 8 blocks from TLA... wonder if that's where you saw them. I saw Richard Patrick (Filter. =) there, a couple years ago... SO wish I'd have seen these guys there... or ANYwhere. =/

As one commenter noted below, I was also lucky enough to download this song from the AoA website during the short time it was available. I can't help but create a "video" in my mind about a guy getting a phone call while working or something. He glances down at his calendar, a wistful look in his eye. He then reverts to his memories of days past... A younger him, maybe late teens, early twenties and a woman about the same age. They're doing the things all young couples in love do (at least in movies and music videos): running through fields of tall grass while a sunset bathes them in golden light; riding Ferris wheels or other carnival rides; smelling colorful bunches of flowers and laughing; kissing and many PDAs. Then they have an argument, nothing major, but being young and impetuous, neither wants to budge an inch. She hands a ring back to him and walks away crying as he stands there, stunned. Fast forward to him again, today, buying a bouquet of flowers from a street vendor. They are the exact same kind as from his memories. He gets into his car and drives away. A set up shot shows him sitting in his car, nervous about getting out, but eventually he does. We see him walking along a sidewalk. Finally he stops and looks up to the sky, as if trying to find the courage to continue. He then kneels down and places the flowers on a fresh grave. The tombstone is dated just a few days before the one we saw on the calendar. The camera backs out of the scene revealing a large cemetery where one grave marker quickly gets lost among the thousands of others. Another anonymous seed in a garden of humanity.

It makes me think about Scott Weiland and if maybe he was listening to it on the bus when he passed away. Or maybe he was listening to a Dean DeLeo solo track from the compilation Sing A Song With Six Strings (2004) kzbin.info/www/bejne/fajRcpmoedupnM0
