It works pretty well, for small spaces it's a noticeable warmth. I can see it being useful in a greenhouse when there's a chance of frost, that sort of thing 😀 Btw, you get a mention in the next vid... a New Year LED display powered by 1 drop of water!

Good idea, should help keep the chill off a bit definitely better than nothing. I have seen someone using resistive heating basically dumping excess charge from wind generator into kettle element. 👍

It's a decent extra, likely useful in power outtages. Yes, have seen the kettle element idea into a sand battery, but using solar rather than wind. If I could work out how to heat the sandstone foundation of this house then we'd have something great lol

It's how the Romans did it way back when 👍

Nicely detailed experiment. Thanks for posting. What about a 2 metal heating? Copper and zinc in wet sand but touching each other above the sand. Or Maybe with a little oscillator Inbetween to have some potential pulses…..

Interesting ideas, I do like the thought of electrical differences based on heat and moisture. Visual or audio indicators of moisture and heat 😀

Try another tea lite in the center

It probably would work well for the fan! I didn't think of that 😀

It makes little difference if or how much the unit heated up. 3 tea lights will never raise the room temperature unless in a small closet well insulated. I do wonder how carbon monoxide affect plants...

That's kind of the idea, in a small room to take the edge off. It does work well when nearby in this smallish room where the PC is. The pot does stay warm for a long time too. All in all, much better than nothing for power outtages and such, which we do get a lot of. Otherwise, sure, a mains heater will beat it every time.

I can not hear this something is wrong with the sound

Did you fix it Ryan? Hope so as all seems to be fine here and others hear it fine. Thanks for mentioning though, problems can happen in editing and are always good to know about. I do, however, always play any vid on the channel page when uploaded and my wife tends to watch them on the TV, which also works as a quality check.

you are supposed to use sand not rocks! there are a thousand videos on u tub about these.

Haha yes rocks would describe it better. It IS sand, but not fine crystals, because it's straight out of the backyard.
