Im turning 59 in late October 2024 & haven't been on a motorbike since i was 11 years old & riding a 1970's mini bike with 1 gear 😝 Ive decided before i get to much older im going to do Learners Course & then get my motorcycle Licence 👍😄 Watching these video's is very insightful & only makes me more keen to proceed with my plan of getting bike & licence ! Almost universal on modern bikes is a green neutral light. A good beginner engine starting drill step for such bikes is "green to start" because you can be sure someone's going to forget the clutch one day and a step that uses a visual queue rather than a step that relies on a user action is easier to remember.

I'm not sure if I've just been taught wrong my whole life but this is weird to me. I have never once pulled in my clutch with more than 2 fingers (same goes for the front brake) and I've been so heavy footed when using the rear brake, IDK if I'm wrong in using it lightly but I never really saw the point in using it so much when starting because it lacks the power the front brake has to keep the bike at a complete stand still.

Hi MJ, we are teaching road skills to new riders, and this is the technique we use. We use 4 fingers on both the clutch and brake levers. Thanks, Stay Upright.

I own one of these cb125e’s good luck riding with the stand down they won’t run with the stand down and in gear

Yeah, I've been caught out with that a couple of times before, thinking something was wrong with the bike; following the steps in the video helps avoid that error.

@@StayUprightTraining same thing happened to me when I brought it chucked it in gear and the bike died instantly took me five minutes to figure out what was wrong

​@@adamarcus9233I just rebuilt the carb on a 2012 ninja 250 and the same thing happened, It took me a good while to work out what was going on😂
